What a ******* liberty from C@nbet ......

Account not used for about 14 months so they decide to erase a balance of £250.
They've also made sure the account transactions only go back 3 months so there's no initial way of validating your betting history.

He's the email reply from them;

Hi *****

Please be advised your account balance has been credited back, please feel free to bet.

The balance was debited previously due to your account status was in dormant.

Kind regards.

... And no, I don't agree with that in the workplace.

You'll find bookies do a lot worse than that. betsson simply confiscated my funds due to not being able to verify my identinty, and 'refused to discuss the matter further' even after I sent them sollicitor verified documents.

How much was it, Investor, and did they eventually pay up?

Lot of them start nibbling away at dormant accounts these days e.g Lads and Betfair.

Eric, I had exactly the same issue with the same company, assume you had to complain to get it back (like I did)?  Your next challenge will be withdrawing these funds as they are one of the worst (expect to jump through many hoops).  You may have to arb something onto here if you really can't be bothered.  It is a "hidden" benefit of keeping comprehensive betting records - this would have cost me years ago.  It is a disgrace as many punters will have money with many bookies, but when logging in they will think they had no money at the aforementioned bookie when they did!

Also, I didn't receive any emails saying they were going to thieve it either.  Nor was I notified by the "nibbler" bookies either.  Learning from experience it is best to withdraw straight away if possible... there have also been many bookies go bust over the years too (but at least I have been fortunate to not become a cropper to them)!

I'm told its due to people snuffing it. A sad widow finally pulls herself together and checks her hubby's financial details, she comes across a list of betting accounts, emails Laddies & Co, only to be told the accounts are empty.

Grave robbing S C U M. Some ex-city piece of sh1t will probably get a bonus for coming up with the idea. Where would we all be without these "wealth creators"?

where was the company based Investor? personally I would report them to the police in the relevant authority for fraud/theft.

someone should be up in court for that.

To show the other side of the coin, they aren't all the same. When my dad died I contacted the purple site as I knew he had a good chunk in there and with very little fuss they sent the money to my mum.

Betsson has just bought Nordic, so obviously isn't short of a few quid.

Send a complaint to the LGA.  In the past they've been completely useless and unwilling to bother to help, but you never know your luck.
