Hi I just opened an account with a bookie (a big name one) and placed two inrunning bets on 2 different events. The first one won and they paid me and then the second one won 10 minutes later and they then they voided both of them. Is there anything I can do about this or can the bookmaker do whatever they like? When I spoke to their customer services they just said they decided both bets were late (they were not). Where do I go from here...
If bookie registered in UK then it is illegal to void bets - only the UK Gambling Commission can do this. If worth it, take to Small Claims Court to get paid, Don't bother with IBAS if it is a legal matter. If not registered in UK, you have almost no protection unless you have deep pockets.

I opened the account today. Placed my first bet at evens which won. I then had my original deposit and my winnings from the first bet in the account and placed another bet at 4/1 on a separate event which also won. After it won they voided both bets. I should stick to betting on here, but there wasn't a lot of money in those markets at the time. They haven't sent me an email. When I spoke to their customer services this is what I was told

AFAIK They can void them if there's an obvious (palpable) error to avoid an obvious human error walloping them, otherwise ..
it's pretty hard in an online bet to be "late"? That sounds like b0ll0x.

Call the bookie. Tell them you want to speak to a manager. Tell the manager to send you an IBAS form as you are going to challenge their decision. They may end up giving you the payout.

We need more details to give an unbiased opinion....so far all we have is ....I`ve had 2 winning bets in play and they`ve voided them. We need selections, prices, game/match/race situation, etc etc

Becasue perhaps the details will name and shame themselves..
I am backer at 1.01, these bets where at the wrong price or after a material impact to the event.
and I know nothing about the bets in question.....

The bets were at a placed at a fair price not a wrong price, so you would lose your bet sir. They paid me when the first bet won and I was very surprised when they voided that bet later as the second bet won which they also voided on a separate event. The bookmaker in question is sponsoring the event I bet on which makes it more galling. I've contacted IBAS so will take it from there. Thanks for the replies

If you're courtsiding the snooker via a smartphone (for instance) I wd say you're in a good position.
A bookmaker cannot cite a 'material impact on the event', as far as I'm aware, on IR prices if they accept the bet. They should have their own in-built delays w/ repricing. They can cite 'palpable error' at the times the bets were taken.
Maybe bookmakers will have another perspective on this?

As mentioned, if you want advice, you need to give more detail:
a) what were the events? b) did you place the bets BEFORE the event was over? c) What were the odds matched? d) what were the scores at the time that these were matched.
e) demand an email explanation or tell customer service you will have to record the conversation. Last year, I was with a mate who took on the bookies on something. We asked to record the conversation (they also weren't pleased to be on speaker with two of us) and was put on hold for ten minutes while they asked their supervisor. They came back and said it was not okay to record them (yet it's okay for them to record me?!?!?!). So asked for email which they didn't do after seven days. He skipped IBAS and threatened claims court via letter. He got his money that afternoon then they closed his account.
