My wife is self employed, but only makes a very small amount for which she fills a self assessment form.
She has been asked, by another organization, to provide audited accounts for this and last year
She doesn't have any as she though self assessment was enough
PLease could someone point me in the right direction ( a link?) so that she knows what she has to do.

Do the other company think that she is working as say a limited company rather than as a sole trader?

I believe that they think she is a sole trader
My wife may have inadvertently said something (she is not a businesswoman, she just does bits and pieces of work for money and then declares it a self assessment) Despite me telling her she is unlikely to get into any serious trouble ( we are talking quite a bit less than £10k a year ) she now wants to do everything 'proper' (though she doesn't know what 'proper' is) Does she have to make up audited accounts anyway? I'm sure if she does I could do them for her with a web link ( I'm not going to try any tricks like 'writing things off'- it frankly isn't worth the effort for the sums we are talking about) |

This statement is very vague re her status as "self-employed"..... "repercussions" wording is also vague re what you mean? |
