worked at fontwell today , nly 2 of us in the lower tatts , not a terrible little crowd for 2,1st race 4 runners, i put em in at6%, and was shorter on the front two and the same price on the third in, obviously you know its gonna be a long day ,i chose not to take part, similar story next race in a small field. after that bigger fields and i went on the bone on the front ones,we basically end p with a price war~(two handed) ok all fancied horses win so a small loss in incurred by yours truly( cant beat results) then to annoy me more im looking a t 10.5 11 to lay a horse, i ask the guy next dopor"how much you wanna take out of that horse" to which he replied " nothing".ffs not a pony thirty quid , not a fkn shilling.drives you mad betting next to people who wanna stand horse for a fiver.i fully accept its dog eat dog and anyone cant play how they like but in normal circumstances betting next to the guy who would bet there wed have bet sensibly and won.cant get itout of my head why they put prices up that they dont want to lay.
With so little money out there, it's hard enough trying to cover expenses, let alone make a living. These so called bookmakers who offer the biggest prices only to put everything back on the machine will eventually kill the ring. The punters think they are great at the moment, prices bigger and over rounds smaller and smaller, but as the genuine books pack up and leave, then the commission agents will be left to fight each other and then, and, with no edge left, it will all implode. Karma!

to be honest im as competitive as the next man but i just couldnt see the point when theres just two of us there. to be honest i ripped thebollloooocks out of it afterwards to no avail(is it ever).i will say one thing though if iver got a price on the board its cos i wanna lay that price even if its to trade(though obviously to more limited stakes in that cse).even if the said bookie had said to me"only wanna lay 20 quid" id have said"thank you thats fine"its hard to bet next to a couple who are looking to cover exes and win 50 quid beteen them.im not being charlie big spuds as im smalltime and me and my pal are lookng o come up for 2-300quid(less if the business allows)if we had used our brains the two of us coulda got a little days work stress free.
