Any saffers still using betfair? Got a call from sa reserve bank today, scared the hell out of me. mentioned R10mill fines and jail sentences. made me promise on voice recording that i will never do it again. apparently it does not matter where you live, if you are gambling on betfair you are breaking the law and can be fined R10mill.

I would contact betfair and ask them what they know about it.
Never do again what? Do you use direct bank transfers or a credit card at betfair? What is about Moneybookers or Neteller?
with credit card, i had requested a new credit card to be issued through my bank, and they had to run it by the reserve bank to be able to issue it to a foreign address. they did that, and then can back to me and said that the reserve bank has spotted payments to betfair.
it's not only a case of funding your betfair account with a saffer credit card, it is completely illegal for south africans to use betfair apparently.
