Hey bannerman....where have you been for the last eight years?
This has been discussed too many times to mention previously!
That explanation is the most long winded I ever saw and. whilst it is quite correct. it's like the guy is on some sort of ego trip!
Incidentally I figured this out all by my little self in the first three weeks!
Have you figured out how to place bets with zero liability yet?
BTW don't be surprised if you get a winning bet reversed either!
I won £87.90 with a 10p back bet that was matched at 880. I didn't get excited, as I knew it wouldn't stick to the wall, and it was actually reversed within about twenty minutes!
So that's my little ego trip for now.......

Investor.....if you lost £87.90 to a hidden 10p bet would you just take it on the chin?
Of course you wouldn't!
You would be straight onto BF and ask for your loss to be re-instated!

Yes I would !
Never heard of bets matched at less than minimum amount getting voided.
Are you serious ?

If £10 was put up at a price and someone bet £9.50, it would leave a 50p bet. Hundreds of these matched a day, no way you would get your money back.
Surely this is a fishing trip.If £10 was put up at a price and someone bet £9.50, it would leave a 50p bet. Hundreds of these matched a day, no way you would get your money back.
I'm not talking about people putting up a fair amount of money and having some matched and leaving a small amount for someone else to take. That's fine.
Eddie, I am deadly serious, and for you to say you would accept a loss of that amount because you fell over, what was essentially a trap bet of 10p only, is ridiculous!
It went off my account within twenty minutes with the only explanation being "Fix"!
If I could be bothered to trawl back through my statements, I would do so but I couldn't guess to within four months when it occurred.
There was no way I was going to try to claw it back, as it would only highlight the fact that my software places thousands of bets every day, and sometimes way over 1,000 bets per hour, which is why I have been hit for transaction charges far too many times before I put up a safeguard!
You may have noticed that I am not exactly a Betfair virgin and frankly, sometimes, I don't know why I bother posting on here, to be derided by people who haven't really understood the subject!
Kauto...that is not a relevant example!I'm not talking about people putting up a fair amount of money and having some matched and leaving a small amount for someone else to take. That's fine.Eddie, I am deadly serious, and for you to say you would ac
How can an invisible bet of 10p at odds of 880 be a trap bet ? Why would a layer put up that price when no money is showing unless it was a correct price to lay at ?

Eddie... I've been on here for ages and never got into an argument with anyone but you really I have been on here for some time, and never got into an argument with anyone, but you really are showing some considerable contempt!
There is nothing much in this world that angers me more, than people challenging something that I have stated as exact fact.

Try asking that of the layer. I'm not him so I can't answer that. It was clearly a mistake where market movement dragged it into the firing line I guess!
And then this from you.....
And why is it ridiculous ? It's not like £ 87 is a fortune, or is it....
That is outrageous comment from you! Are you asking whether it's a fortune for me, or for the other punter, as he was the one to get the bet reversed!
Suppose it was never 10p but £1.00 he would have been losing £879.00.
Supposing it was £1.99 he would have been losing £1,758.00.
I'm guessing that is still 'chicken feed' to you!
