Hi

I am new to Betfair and am finding that my Internet Explorer browser doesn't like me having 6 or 7 tabs open all on various Betfair screens.  It eventually gets to the stage where IE hangs and I have to use task manager to close IE and then re-open all my screens again.

I was wondering what other people are using.

Thanks
Richard

Firefox is the best, its the most tested browser within BF HQ. Although it is hard to keep up with the constant updates firefox apply.

No probs with chrome, it seems the fastest compared to IE,FF.

Opening so many tabs you may be getting this problem...

See "site feedback" forum, thread by K.C....."One month on and memory leakage...."

by far the best browser is opera for high workloads because...

1....firefox has an annoying auto maximize screen size that can slow point and click operations.
2....opera has a neat new tab/favorites displayed as screen shots facility for quick site visits.
3....very quick and slick.
4....auto spelling on all web based editing including on here.
5....just brilliant all round

try it if you don't believe me.

opera also remembers all the tabs you had opened last time and reopens them again if you so desire.

something known as workgrouping that even windows steers clear of as its ported as an average user operating system when in fact some of us are heavy users and demand better facilitation.

Thanks for all your replies.
I have been using Firefox for the last week and had none of the problems I was having with IE.
Might try Opera though and see how that goes.
Cheers
Richard

Opera is a good browser which I often use when testing web apps (it's not a good browser for reasons such as "just brilliant all round" though).

On the Betfair website I use Google Chrome as the Betfair (like most modern websites) makes extensive use of JavaScript and imo Chrome has the fastest JavaScript engine and also has the couple of valid features that bf_f does point out about opera.

But you are on the right lines using anything but IE.

Chrome fastest for me.

Not sure what spelling's got to do with it, unless you spend all day on the forum.

I have tried many I.E. being the worst and imo Safari the best.
