In between my profitable exploits was looking at lotto draws.
The one that took my interest was the irish one as it is 0-45
=44 numbers 23 odd 22 even which gives a 5% swing in favour of odd.I used the odds-algorithm and got to within 1 number of making 7 million.Surly with your math knowledgeable experience we could hit it.Possible on that lotto .

I have a mate who's obsessed with the lotto, he records every detail you can imagine.
I see it as a completely random event, 100% unpredictable, and terrible value hence a license to print for the operator, offering 9/1 for a 50/1ish shot is nice if you can get it!
Curious as to how you think value is obtainable in the Irish lotto? How can any lottery ever offer value? Don't bark at me please, just trying to help.

As you stated on an even parallel what you say is true .However you have not accounted for the advantage coupled with the odds-algorithm give a return of 24%.As their take is 16% it is profitable.With the chance of a big payout why not. Either way it is a proven winner .

The odds of winning the jackpot is 8,145,060 / 1
"If the National Lottery Lotto draw was fair, then considering you pay €1.50 per line, the jackpot should be a minimum of over €12M every time! So you could look at it like the National Lottery is only giving you 16% of what you should be getting, if you win a jackpot of €2M.
But it gets much worse as you go down the payout structure...the real odds of getting 5 number plus the bonus are 1,392,317 / 1. If you match 5 plus the bonus, you get...wait for it...€25K!! If they were fair about it you would be getting over €2M, which means they are paying you only approx. 1.2% of what you should get. Unbelievable."
Bar incredible luck their is no way you can make it pay whatever you do.

Thankyou again compound but i did read on their site that their take was 16% .Maybe i got it mixed up with something else but no worries

The last time i played it was when there had been three consecutive draws each with 5 even numbers. Played the odd numbers got five and 3.5k for my 128 investment.Did think there was a method to it but as you say obviously not.
It's possible to win on the scratch-cards, but only if you have a 'special relationship' with your local newsagent so that they can tip you off when a particular batch of scratch-cards has partly gone without producing any winning cards... The main lotteries are realistically unwinnable though, surely?
As my luck is in and watched the results on that irish lotto going to have another go this Saturday playing my advantage .Thankyou as always compound for your excellent help and advice.
