A dank rainy miserable 1st day of the year, and nothing makes me want to travel all the way to the bookies.
There`s a few fancies, but nothing too strong. Man City should win away at Sunderland in the big live game, but at 4/9 I can let it pass. Its nearer 8/13 @ Betfair. City have a great record at Sunderland, a great away record this season, and there`s a big gulf between these 2 teams. Theyve scored in every game bar 1 this season, and with Sunderland struggling for goals, 1 could be enough here. Sunderland have been resilient recently under new manager Martin O`Neil, and will be hard to break down, but you have to fancy Citys array of attacking players to break through at some stage. 4/9 though? No thanks.
Simon Whitlock should take care of Andy Hamilton in the darts semi tonight, BUT the 2/7 is again too short. Its a big occasion for both men, and Whitlock has struggled in the past in big tv games. He lost 9 legs in a row a few years ago at this venue, to crash out from a winning position. He did a similair thing the other night against Van Gerwen, but got it together at the death to edge the win 4-3 after leading 3-0 early. And though he beat Gary Anderson in the last round, Anderson missed lots of doubles and could have won that game. Hamilton shouldnt be good good enough in all honesty BUT if Whitlock has a freeze on stage, Hamilton IS good enough to beat him. So again, a probable winner, but too short.
got me thinking about starting mine up again. thing is it's no hassle to do it at this time of year, bad weather, early evenings, not much else to do. but once spring starts springing there's better things to do.
