Alot of people mention, "I see you have 13k on Juve" for example.

Is there a way to see people profit/loss or what bets they have made.

Also, when people say there are pro gamblers on here. Can someone give me a few usernames of these to look out for.

Thanks guys

Some users repeat themselves you'll find.

I feel compared to the general person I know alot about gambling.

But compared to a 'Pro' (if that is actually possible) Im sure my techniques are pretty awful.

I'm kind of trying to find my own market and method to start getting some small but steady success. Iv lost far too much money just betting on anything on TV and I think its now time to use my time to something which can generate success.

I like the idea of value betting. Before each game, setting myself what i think the odds should be and if the odds showing are well above what i have priced them as.

I know discipline and patience is the key to betting. In my eyes a Pro better, would bet on like 4 horse races a  year and with about 10k on each one.

I don't know tho, is there any websites or anyone care to share some ideas of styles of gambling or things to look for when betting

Oh also, my first point about seeing other peoples bets. is that possible?

If you could see other peoples bets, the monopoly fantasists who inhabit this forum would lose their reason to live.

Thank you, Shane Blush. Toby - it's so bad people have been known to take screenshots of completely imaginary bets, edit the picture and post them on the internet then put links on the forum, but get the maths wrong. Or have the same bet numbers as they forgot to change that. Or talk about imaginary bets that aren't actually matched at those odds and quantitites when you view the graphs etc, so obviously don't exist. Obviously there ARE some big players out there but .. set your cynicism to high and have a pinch of salt handy.
Report frimpong • December 4, 2011 11:14 PM GMT

What are you talking about just checking, I haven't and have never trolled any forum - please provide evidence to the contrary.

I took exception to you when you called me a parasite just becaue I said I read a story in the daily Mirror.

So you've called me a parasite for no good reason - and you've made up a lie about forum trolling,Confused clearly not my style at all.

So my point above looks to be well justified.

I very much doubt this. Though on reflection, it's probably a fair generalisation :P Anyway, I'm not getting into a slagging match.

The coalition are trying to help people on low wages by rasing the tax allowance to 10k. But as "parasite apologist12" is a mirror reader they probably didn't manage to fit that in between the opinions of Bob Crow and Ed Millibrain.

there you go - and what I also said was it was Sunday, read many papers on a sunday and the point was relevant to the thread, read paters mostly for the sport not to see what the latest is in the world of Politricks which I take it was/is your beef.
ps. where is this trolling you speak of.?

If you listen to anyone on these forums you are wasting your time, you need to find a forum that has people on it that are actually interested in making money not just trying to big note themselves.
Report Just Checking • December 5, 2011 12:10 AM GMT
acquiesce12 : I did NOT call YOU a parasite, I was making a play on words to say an apologist for parasites. It was a bit strong and I take it back, I must've been in a foul mood that day :P And this was NOT for reading the daily mirror, it was for apparently trying to say it's ok to live on benefits if you're better off on them, something I and many others don't agree with.
Report acquiesce12 • December 5, 2011 12:27 AM GMT
fair enough I'll take your word, I'm sure you can see how it looked even now to me, nvm.general betting not the place for this anyhow, my bad there.

Betting at value is pretty much the only way to get ahead, so you've got the right idea to build on.

Once you've established that you have an edge and are beating commission and consistently making money, you want to be on as many bets as possible, the more the better. Personally I play in around 800-1000 markets a week and turn over about 20k, which isn't much compared to some but my percentage profit is probably better than most.

You'll soon find out which user names are worth listening to and which not :)
Report acquiesce12 • December 5, 2011 1:22 AM GMT
trevh

you turn over 20k a week?
Report Trevh • December 5, 2011 1:36 AM GMT
Yes, but some punters turn over more than that with just one bet.
Report acquiesce12 • December 5, 2011 1:56 AM GMT
Something to aim for, well done, where there is a will there is a way, i'll get there some day, not in a loss but far from the big boys league.

That sounds like the opposite of what a pro would do.

The more bets someone with an edge has the more certain their profit will be.

They wouldn't bet 10,000 on anything unless their bank was 500k+
