IRAN are NOT being allowed to have it........

What freaking right do the hypocrites have for ATTACKING IRAN FUNDS etc when they have nuclear power......

OK........If USA......BRITAIN.....etc etc all agree to disband nuclear power......then IRAN might agree too....................WON'T HAPPEN THOUGH.

Who in their right mind would allow an unstable potential enemy to become as powerful as themselves? It may be hypocritical, against human rights and illegal to prevent Iran from developing nuclear power, but sometimes being selfish is the right thing to do for the greater good.

I would not sleep easy knowing we had leaders who thought it was right to let Iran develop nukes simply because it was their right to do so.

ANSWER ...ISRAEL and all OIL resource countries.........

Sorry Trev..........They say they are NOT developing NWs.........

ISRAEL has them....and it is an UNSTABLE country that is paranoid re their neighbouring countries !

USA should recognise that the only way forward in MIDDLE EAST is to get ISRAEL to make a "reasonable" agreement with Palestinians........

The way forward is NOT to allow ISRAEL to once again invade another country and kill people........................just because they believe they are GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE . How evil are they?

Nice to know this forum is full of anti-semites like you Dcironman. Throughout the course of history Israel have never been the aggressor. Israel won't BUDGE re sharing LAND in equitable fashion.......they grabbed land of PALESTININES and built property thereon...moved their people into said property and won't BUDGE!

What you call "aggression" seems to be a very blinkered view re ISRAEL action.

The statement you refer to.....can you produce it....THE FULL STATEMENT.....It was over 10 years ago........

Why should IRAN not have NUCLEAR power when USA/BRITAIN/FRANCE/CHINA/RUSSIA etc etc can?

So once again ISRAEL is talking about taking ACTION ...military action...against IRAN....that is making first move into another country.......

They keep doing same thing all the time.......making aggressive action....killing people.

This "story" line re 5 scientists being "murdered" should be the prominent news and ....as usual.......it is being ignored by the Western governments as being something they don't want to be "involved" in......

IRAN - ISRAEL position needs URGENT addressing, otherwise the 2012 "end of world" scenario could happen !

USA and Britain plus France and Germany should be bringing ISRAEL to heel over their actions ....if true. Leaving this continued aggression against IRAN can only lead to one outcome........a war .

IRAN must be viewing the total abrogation of Western governments leadership on such murders as being yet another insult to "justice" for them re ISRAEL behaviour.

Situation re ISRAEL and IRAN and PALESTINIANS needs to be dealt with ......and only resolution/pressure that will make ISRAEL "behave" and address PALESTINIAN position is freezing their bank accounts etc.....

IRAN has had to put up with such treatment....so why not ISRAEL?

I don't want anyone to attack ISRAEL.........other than attack their assets......likely only action that will get this intransigennt nation to act in a fair and civilised manner.

Israel is a murderous, terrorist state which is a far bigger threat to world peace both now and in the future than Iran, who has attacked nobody and only indulges in sabre rattling.

Why is it allowed to act with impunity, committing terrorist acts, murder, war crimes, ethic cleansing etc both at home and abroad, and the west just shrugs it shoulders Confused

Many similarities with Nazi Germany under Hitler tbh.

Israel's Supreme Court has upheld a law banning Palestinians who marry Israelis from gaining Israeli citizenship.

Civil rights groups had petitioned the court to overturn the law, saying it was unconstitutional.

"Human rights do not prescribe national suicide," Judge Asher Grunis wrote in the judgement.

The law was introduced in 2003, with its backers citing security concerns and the need to ensure Israel remains a Jewish-majority state.

Human rights activists and Arab politicians condemned the court's decision.

The court "had failed the test of justice", said Arab-Israeli MP Jamal Zahalka of the Balad party.

"It is a dark day for the protection of human rights and for the Israeli High Court," lawyers from the Association for Civil Rights in Israel told AFP.

"The ruling proves how much the situation regarding the civil rights of the Arab minority in Israel is declining into a highly dangerous and unprecedented situation", Arab-Israeli civil rights group Adalah, one of those that brought the petition, said in a statement.

The Citizenship and Entry Law was passed in 2003, during the second Palestinian intifada (uprising), as waves of suicide bombings targeted Israel.

Many were launched from the West Bank, some with the help of Israeli Arabs.

Initially, the law was emergency legislation which has since been extended periodically.

It was amended in 2005, allowing women over 25 and men over 35 to apply for temporary permits to live in Israel, but still ruling out citizenship for all but a handful of cases.

In 2007, it was expanded to apply to citizens of Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

You know the whole 'ship carrying aid' thing was a scam, don't you?  The various drugs and provisions (the 'aid') on that ship were almost all out of date and toxic. The kitchens, on the other hand, were very well stocked with large sets of newly sharpened knives, and the people on board the ship well trained in the use of them.

The ship could have stopped and let the Israelis simply check it. They didn't need to keep steaming in, knowing the Israelis would take them by force.

The Egyptians, by the way, are every bit as keen on stopping and searching ships carrying 'aid' to the Palestinians, for very good reason.  That part never gets reported though...  (And strangely, the aid ships aren't as keen to test the resolve of the Egyptians. Fancy that!)

Explosion, Stuxnet

Other incidents in Iran in recent months have raised suspicions of sabotage against the country’s nuclear program.

A November explosion at a military base west of Tehran killed at least 17 people including a director in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, state media reported at the time. Last year, malicious software known as Stuxnet affected computer systems controlling several centrifuges used in Iran’s uranium- enrichment program, Iranian officials have said.

The latest killing also follows an Iranian court’s Jan. 9 decision to sentence an American of Iranian descent, Amir Mirzaei Hekmati, to death for spying. U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland has said allegations that Hekmati worked for the CIA were “simply untrue.”

Land grabs? Leaving aside the original 'granting of land' to the Israelis (which I appreciate is a bit of a tricky one, even though the Israelis had themselves been driven out of that land by force centuries earlier), their subsequent land grabs have almost all come as the result of war - and most of these wars were started when various other countries in the Middle East joined forces to try and obliterate Israel.

Within five years of the Israelis setting foot, only Egypt was seeing a larger influx of non-Jewish people from within the Middle East. That's because Muslims/Arabs knew the Israelis were laying down the groundwork for something that was relatively prosperous. The land was poorly tended before. Since then it's been properly developed and cultivated - despite having to contend with the hostility of their neighbours.  I'm not saying that's right, but then a decent chunk of the Muslim explosion across the Middle East wasn't exactly entered into voluntarily...

Everyone in the Middle East would say 'we don't like the Jews, but they are human and they are here to stay. It's not in our interests to keep fighting them, so we should now try and be civil to them, perhaps even do a little trade with them, and maybe we can all prosper and live in peace.'    Now that's what *should* happen. But, us being humans and being rather flawed, it won't. So, they'll carry on with this stupid tit for tat that benefits nobody.  This is a Jews vs Non-Jews situation. Unless the Jews and Non-Jews try and get along with one another, the tension will continue, regardless of whether Israel strikes a deal with Palestine or not.

Ros-Lehtinen: Congress Must Keep Leveraging U.S. Funding to Stop Palestinian Statehood Scheme at UN

(WASHINGTON) – U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said today that the U.S. must preserve and strengthen existing U.S. law requiring a cutoff of U.S. funding to any UN agency that grants membership to “Palestine.” The U.S. ceased financial contributions to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on October 31, 2011 after that body admitted “Palestine” as a member. According to reports, Palestinian leaders plan to continue seeking membership or other upgraded status at other UN bodies. Statement by Ros-Lehtinen:

“As the Palestinian leadership continues their destructive statehood scheme at the UN, the U.S. must act decisively to stop this ruse. Other than our Security Council veto, the only roadblock in Ramallah’s way is that by law, the U.S. must cut off funding to any UN body that grants membership to ‘Palestine.’

“The Administration wants Congress to gut U.S. law and let the Administration fund UN bodies that support the Palestinian statehood scheme. But the Administration’s diplomatic efforts have failed to seriously impede the scheme; in contrast, leveraging our funding to the UN has succeeded, as others see that we mean business and that they can’t take reckless, anti-Israel actions with impunity. If we abandon this strategy now, we would telegraph an ‘all clear’ for UN bodies to grant de facto recognition of a Palestinian state.

“We must further strengthen U.S. law to cut off funding to any UN body that not only grants membership to ‘Palestine,’ but even grants some other upgraded status to Ramallah. That is how to stop this dangerous Palestinian scheme in its tracks. Any maneuvers to undercut current law will serve to pave the way forward for the Palestinians.”

NOTE: Ros-Lehtinen is the author of the United Nations Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act (H.R. 2829), which seeks to change the way in which the UN is funded in order to give member-states control over what their contributions pay for at the UN, as well as leverage to press for real UN reform. The bill contains a provision that reinforces and strengthens current U.S. law by cutting off U.S. funding to any UN entity which grants membership or any other upgraded status to the Palestinian mission.

And if the Muslims had possession of Jerusalem, they'd be accommodating towards the Christians and Jews, would they? (About as accommodating as they are across much of the Middle East, presumably..)  Jerusalem is only important to the Muslims in as much as it corresponds to the Mi'raj, which involved Mohammed going on a dream journey to Jerusalem and supping with Christian figures like Jesus, and with key Jewish figures like Abraham and Moses. They have plenty of other holy places which ought to be more important to them (even they only rank Jerusalem as their third holiest place of all), so why should they get to keep the one that has real significance to both Jews and Christians? They don't have a right to everything that's holy simply because it's 'part' of the Muslim faith.

Since the Christians and Jews have a special claim to the significance of Jerusalem, why shouldn't we have some say over that one bit? I say if the Christians are happy for the Jews to have that one place, and to have one single part of the world where Jews can practise as Jews without having to feel apologetic towards the indigenous population, why shouldn't they have Jerusalem?  Maybe that is racist, but the Middle East is a very racist place. Or didn't you know that? Don't tell me that the hatred of the Jews there isn't racist...

Saladin was a great Muslim leader. His real name was Salah al-Din Yusuf. He united and lead the Muslim world and in 1187, he recaptured Jerusalem for the Muslims after defeating the King of Jerusalem at the Battle of Hattin near the Lake of Galilee. When his soldiers entered the city of Jerusalem, they were not allowed to kill civilians, rob people or damage the city. The more successful Saladin was, the more he was seen by the Muslims as being their natural leader.

Saladin - painted a number of years after his death

The Christians of western Europe were stunned by the success of Saladin. The pope, Gregory VIII, ordered another crusade immediately to regain the Holy City for the Christians. This was the start of the Third Crusade. It was led by Richard I (Richard the Lionheart), Emperor Frederick Barbarossa of Germany and King Philip II of France. These were possibly the three most important men in western Europe - such was the importance of this crusade. It was to last from 1189 to 1192.

Frederick was drowned on his march across Europe. He was 70 years of age and his death shocked his army and only a small part of it continued to the Middle East.

Richard, Philip and their men travelled by boat. They stopped their journey in modern day Sicily. In March 1191, Philip then sailed to the port of Acre which was controlled by the Muslims. This was an important port to capture for the Christians as it would allow them to easily land their ships and it was also the nearest big port to Jerusalem. Acre was besieged. Philip's men were joined by Richard's.

He had captured Cyprus first before moving on to Acre. The port could not cope against such a force and in July 1191, it fell to the Christians. However, the siege had had its impact on Philip - he was exhausted and left for France. Richard was left by himself. While in control of Acre, the Christians massacred 2000 Muslim soldiers who they had captured. Saladin had agreed to pay a ransom for them but somehow there was a breakdown in the  process of payment and Richard ordered their execution.

Richard was determined to get to Jerusalem and he was prepared to take on Saladin. The march south to Jerusalem was very difficult. The Crusaders kept as near to the coast as possible to allow ships to supply them. It was also slightly cooler with a coastal breeze. Regardless of this, the Christians suffered badly from the heat and lack of fresh water. At night when the Crusaders tried to rest, they were plagued by tarantulas. Their bites were poisonous and very painful.

Both sides fought at the Battle of Arsur in September 1191. Richard won but he delayed his attack on Jerusalem as he knew that his army needed to rest. He spent the winter of 1191 to 1192 in Jaffa where his army regained its strength. Richard marched on Jerusalem in June 1192.

However, by now even Richard the Lionheart was suffering. He had a fever and appealed to his enemy Saladin to send him fresh water and fresh fruit. Saladin did just this - sending frozen snow to the Crusaders to be used as water and fresh fruit. Why would Saladin do this?

There are two reasons. First, Saladin was a strict Muslim. One of the main beliefs of Islam  is that Muslims should help those in need. Secondly, Saladin could send his men into Richard's camp with the supplies and spy on what he had in terms of soldiers, equipment etc.

What they found was that Richard only had 2,000 fit soldiers and 50 fit knights to use in battle. With such a small force, Richard could not hope to take Jerusalem even though he got near enough to see the Holy City. Richard organised a truce with Saladin - pilgrims from the west would once again be allowed to visit Jerusalem without being troubled by the Muslims. Neither Richard or Saladin particularly liked the truce but both sides were worn out and in October 1192, Richard sailed for western Europe never to return to the Holy Land.

However, for Richard the adventure was not over. On his journey back to England, his ship got wrecked in a storm. He found that he had to travel through Austria. This country was owned by a sworn enemy of Richard - Duke Leopold of Austria. Leopold had originally been a leading member of the Third Crusade but he had been ridiculed by Richard who did nothing to stop his men making fun out of Leopold. They called him "the sponge" because he drank so much and was drunk too often! Leopold had lost a lot of prestige and now he had a chance to avenge himself. Richard was betrayed to Leopold who held him captive for two years until a ransom was paid for him. Richard arrived home in 1194.

Richard was known as the "Lionheart" by his people. Even the Muslims praised him. The Muslim writer Baha wrote about Richard while the Third Crusade was going on:

"......a very powerful man of great courage........a king of wisdom, courage and energy.....brave and clever."

Report DFCIRONMAN January 13, 2012 10:18 PM GMT
Fascism (play /ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a radical authoritarian nationalist political ideology.[1][2] Fascists seek rejuvenation of their nation based on commitment to an organic national community where its individuals are united together as one people in national identity by suprapersonal connections of ancestry, culture, and blood through a totalitarian single-party state that seeks the mass mobilization of a nation through discipline, indoctrination, physical education, and eugenics.[3][4] It seeks to purify the nation of foreign influences that are causing degeneration of the nation or that do not fit into the national culture.[5] It is opposed to many ideologies, including conservatism, liberalism, and two major forms of socialism: communism and social democracy.[6] It opposes a variety of economic, political and social systems, it is opposed to democracy, parliamentary systems, in most cases has an inherently anti-clerical background with some exceptions, and holds a distinctive opposition to capitalism.[7] The fascist state is led by a supreme leader who exercises a dictatorship over the fascist movement, the government and other state institutions.[8] Fascism's basis of legitimacy of this state is its conception of the nation and its well-being in qualitative values and belief that a nation must be led by qualitatively-able leaders while rejecting democracies for being based on quantitative evaluation of individuals and their opinions rather than qualities.[9] It supports action, discipline, hierarchy, spirit, and will and rejects universal egalitarianism, materialism, and rationalism.[10] To achieve its goals, fascists purge forces, ideas, people, and systems deemed to be the cause of decadence and degeneration.[11] It claims to represent a synthesis of cohesive ideas previously divided between traditional political ideologies.[12]

Fascism promotes political violence and war as actions that create national regeneration, spirit and vitality.[3][13] It views violence as a fact of life that is a necessary means to achieve human progress.[14] It exalts militarism as providing positive transformation in society and providing spiritual renovation, education, instilling of a will to dominate in people's character and creating national comradeship through military service.[15] Fascists commonly utilize paramilitary organizations for violent attacks on opponents or to overthrow a political system.[16]

Fascism supports a socially united, collective national society and opposes socially divided class-based societies (including liberal bourgeois and Marxian proletarian class-based societies) and socially-divided individualist-based society.[17] Fascists claim it is a trans-class movement, advocating resolution to domestic class conflict within a nation to secure national solidarity.[18] While fascism opposes domestic class conflict, it favours a proletarian national culture and claims that its goal of nationalizing society levels social classes and emancipates the nation's proletariat, and promotes the assimilation of all classes into proletarian national culture.[19] It opposes contemporary bourgeois class-based society and culture for allegedly being based on selfish and hedonistic individualism that results in plutocracy and war profiteering at the expense of the nation.[20] Fascism claims that bourgeois-proletarian conflict primarily exists in national conflict between proletarian nations versus bourgeois nations; fascism declares support for the victory of proletarian nations.[21]

Fascists advocate: a state-directed, regulated economy that is dedicated to the nation; the use and primacy of regulated private property and private enterprise contingent upon service to the nation or state; the use of state enterprise where private enterprise is failing or is inefficient; and autarky.[22] It supports criminalization of strikes by employees and lockouts by employers as illegal acts it deems these acts as prejudicial to the national community as a whole.[23]

Fascism was founded during World War I by Italian national syndicalists who combined left-wing and right-wing political views, but Italian Fascism gravitated to the right in the early 1920s.[24][25] Mussolini in 1919 described fascism as a syncretic movement that would strike "against the backwardness of the right and the destructiveness of the left".[26][27] Italian Fascists described fascism as a right-wing ideology in the political program The Doctrine of Fascism: "We are free to believe that this is the century of authority, a century tending to the 'right,' a fascist century."[28][29] However they also officially declared that although they were "sitting on the right" they were generally indifferent to their position on the left-right spectrum, as being a conclusion of their combination of views rather than an objective, and considering it insignificant to their basis of their views that they claimed could just as easily be associated with "the mountain of the center" as with the right.[30] There is a running dispute among scholars about where along the left/right spectrum that fascism resides.[31][32][33][34]

WHAT IS FASCISM?

BY LAURA DAWN LEWIS

This may surprise most educated people. One of the more common government strategies today, especially in developing regions is fascism. Fascism is commonly confused with Nazism.  Nazism is a political party platform that embraces a combination of a military dictatorship, socialism and fascism.  It is not a government structure. Fascism is a government structure. The most notable characteristic of a fascist country is the separation and persecution or denial of equality to a specific segment of the population based upon superficial qualities or belief systems.

Simply stated, a fascist government always has one class of citizens that is considered superior (good) to another (bad) based upon race, creed or origin.  It is possible to be both a republic and a fascist state. The preferred class lives in a republic while the oppressed class lives in a fascist state.

Until the Civil Rights act of 1964, many parts of the US were Republic for whites and could be considered fascist for non-Caucasian residents. Fascism promotes legal segregation in housing, national resource allocation and employment. It provides legal justification for persecuting a specific segment of the population and operates behind a two tiered legal system.  These two tiers can be overt as it was within Nazi Germany where Jews, Homosexuals, Catholics, Communists, Clergy and the handicap were held to one set of rules and courts, while the rest of Germany enjoyed different laws.

Or it can be implied and held up by consensual conspiracy, (people know it is wrong but do nothing to stop it or change it.  Through lack of action, they give consent), as it was in the deep South for African Americans and others of color. In Fascism, one segment of society is always considered less desirable, sub-human or second class.

(Note: no single government is pure anything.  Most have elements of several structures with one dominant structure).  Below is the political definition and general characteristics of a fascist country.

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A FASCIST COUNTRY:

1. Fascism is commonly defined as an open terror-based dictatorship which is:

Reactionary: makes policy based upon current circumstances rather than creating policies to prevent problems; piles lies and misnomers on top of more lies until the truth becomes indistinguishable, revised or forgotten.
Chauvinistic: Two or more tiered legal systems, varying rights based upon superficial characteristics such as race, creed and origin.
Imperialist elements of finance capital: Extending a nation's authority by territorial acquisition or by the establishment of economic and political domination of one state over its allies.
Though a dictatorship is the most common association with fascism, a democracy or republic can also be fascist when it strays away from its Tenets of sovereignty.  In the 20th Century, many Fascist countries started out as republics.  Through the use of fear, societies gave up their rights under the guise of security.  Ultimately these republics morphed into Fascist states.

2. Fascism is an extreme measure taken by the middle classes to forestall lower-working class revolution; it thrives on the weakness of the middle classes. It accomplishes this by embracing the middle-class' love of the status-quo, its complacency and its fears of:

Generating a united struggle within the working class

Revolution

Losing its own power and position within society

In a more simplistic term the people currently in control fear that if they allow equal rights and equal consideration to those being oppressed, they will become  oppressed and lose everything.

Generally those in power are of a smaller segment of society, but they hold the wealth and control of key systems like manufacturing, law, finance and government position, (e.g. the slave owners in the south prior to the civil war) and the oppressed vastly outnumber them, (the slaves during the same period)

In reality it is the oppressors' fear of retribution by the oppressed that perpetuates fascism;  for justification they dehumanize, demonize, strip them of rights, add new laws, restrict movement and attempt to control them by whatever means possible to prevent an uprising.

It is very common in a fascist system to have the oppressed referred to as sub-human, animals, terrorists, savages, barbarians, vermin or any other term designed to create justification for the acts of terror and fascism perpetrated on the oppressed. Via dehumanization society can then accept that the oppressed are incapable of thinking or acting in a peaceful manner or taking care of themselves, and thus society is exonerated from culpability in their own minds.  Propaganda, not persuasion, logic or law, is the tool of fascism, though at times very difficult to spot.  It specifically rides the fact that negative behavior is innate, (born with) rather than a logical behavior in response to oppression. Propaganda also empowers the oppressors with elitism racially, socially, intellectually and/or spiritually.

THE 7 CONDITIONS (WARNING SIGNS)THAT FOSTER & FUEL FASCISM ARE:

INSTABILITY of capitalist relationships or markets

The existence of considerable DECLASSED SOCIAL ELEMENTS

The STRIPPING OF RIGHTS AND WEALTH focused upon a specific segment of the population, specifically the middle class and intellectuals within urban areas as this the group with the means, intelligence and ability to stop fascism if given the opportunity.

DISCONTENT among the rural lower middle class (clerks, secretaries, white collar labor). Consistent discontent among the general middle and lower middle classes against the oppressing upper-classes (haves vs have-nots).

HATE: Pronounced, perpetuated and accepted public disdain of a specific group defined by race, origin, theology or association.

GREED: The motivator of fascism, which is generally associated with land, space or scarce resources in the possession of those being oppressed.

ORGANIZED PROPAGANDA:

a) The creation of social mythology that venerates (creates saints of) one element of society while concurrently vilifying (dehumanizing) another element of the population through misinformation, misdirection and the obscuring of factual matter through removal, destruction or social humiliation, (name-calling, false accusations, belittling and threats).

b) The squelching of public debate not agreeing with the popular agenda via slander, libel, threats, theft, destruction, historical revisionism and social humiliation.  Journalists in particular are terrorized if they attempt to publish stories contrary to the agenda.

3. Fascism DOVETAILS BUSINESS & GOVERNMENT sectors into a single economic unit, while concurrently increasing in-fighting and distrust between the units fostering advancement towards war.

4. a) Fascism PROMOTES CHAUVINIST DEMAGOGY, (appealing to the prejudices and emotions of the populace) by fostering selective persecution and accepted public vilification of the target group. It then promotes this a "patriotic", "supportive" or "the party line" and disagreement with such as "anti-government", "anti-faith" or "anti-nation".

b) Fascism CREATES CONFUSION through "facts". It relies on junk science, revisionism, the elimination of cultural records/treasures and obfuscations to create its case and gain acceptance. Fascism can also combine Marxist critiques of capitalism or faith based critics of the same to re-define middle class perceptions of democracy and  to force its issues, confuse logic and create majority consensus between targeted groups.  This is also referred to as creating a state of Cognitive Dissonance, the mental state human beings are most easily manipulated.

5. Both middle and upper-middle-class dictated democracy and fascism are class dictatorships that use ORGANIZED VIOLENCE (verbal or physical) to maintain the class rule of the oppressors over the oppressed.

The difference between the two is demonstrated by the policies towards non-lower-working class classes.  Fascism attains power through the substitution of one state's form of class domination with another form, generally a middle class based  republic segues into an open terrorist dictatorship, run by a few elite.

THE 14 DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS OF FASCISM
by Dr. Lawrence Britt

Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14-defining characteristics common to each:

1. POWERFUL AND CONTINUING NATIONALISM -
Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. DISDAIN FOR
THE RECOGNITION OF HUMAN RIGHTS -
Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

3. IDENTIFICATION OF ENEMIES/SCAPEGOATS
AS A UNIFYING CAUSE -
The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

4. SUPREMACY OF THE MILITARY -
Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. RAMPANT SEXISM -
The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid.  Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.

6. CONTROLLED MASS MEDIA -
Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. OBSESSION WITH NATIONAL SECURITY -
Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. RELIGION AND GOVERNMENT ARE INTERTWINED -
Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

9. CORPORATE POWER IS PROTECTED -
The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. LABOR POWER IS SUPPRESSED -
Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.

11. DISDAIN FOR INTELLECTUALS AND THE ARTS -
Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.

12. OBSESSION WITH CRIME AND PUNISHMENT -
Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

13. RAMPANT CRONYISM AND CORRUPTION -
Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. FRAUDULENT ELECTIONS -
Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

COMMENTARY:
An interesting note to end this article:  As of January 2004, the United States fulfills all fourteen points of fascism and all seven warning signs are present. But we're not alone. Israel also fulfills all fourteen points and all seven warning signs as well.  Welcome to the new republic, redefined, revised and spun.  It is not too late to reverse this in either country, but it will be soon.  The first step is realizing it.  The second step is getting involved.  As the propaganda slogan disguising our current war goes, "Freedom isn't free." But our war for freedom isn't abroad; it's here at home.

The results were:

The end for 9 billion people. Everything destroyed. Humanity wiped out. Thousands of years of civilisation disappears.Nothing just nothing left.

And yet ...its the end of BETTING, tooLaugh

December 2012 approaching.....Mayan calender ends etc etc etc soon..................as per

The Mayan calendar is divided into Seven Ages of Man. The fourth epoch ended in August 1987. The Mayan calendar comes to an end on Sunday, December 23, 2012. Only a few people will survive the catastrophe that ensues. In the fifth age, humanity will realize its spiritual destiny. In the sixth age, we will realize God within ourselves, and in the seventh age we will become so spiritual that we will be telepathic.

With Israel now spouting about invasion of GAZZA ...again....and over 30,000 being prepared etc etc......is this the start of the end game?
Report DFCIRONMAN November 16, 2012 12:52 AM GMT
The United States, Israel's key ally, has called on countries that have contact with Hamas to urge it to stop rocket attacks from Gaza.

"We've... urged those that have a degree of influence with Hamas such as Turkey, and Egypt and some of our European partners to use that influence to urge Hamas to de-escalate," said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser, in a conference call with reporters.

Asked if the US was concerned that Israeli ground forces would enter Gaza, Mr Rhodes said: "Ultimately it's up to the Israeli government to make determinations about how they're going to carry out their military objectives."

Arab League foreign ministers plan to meet in emergency session on Friday to discuss the escalating violence.

Israel's aerial and naval bombardment of the Gaza Strip, which began after a recent wave of rocket attacks from there, is its most intense assault on the Palestinian territory since it launched a full-scale invasion four years ago, also in response to rocket fire.
