Setting out the days bets, clarifying stakes and waiting to enjoy watching them. My main bet today was going to be Manchester united to win, but what happened before was ever predictable. I'd set out to the local hills shop with the money, and BAM..as soon i was in there a short odds favorite catches the eye, thinking there's a quick buck to be made and to cover my money i was laying out on the football, i put it on. Of course it loses, and for the next 1 hour and half i am chasing my losses, approx i put on around 15 bets, one winner out the lot, and a whole lot of money down. My point is self discipline, i just cant seem to stick to what i know and mainly ive narrowed it down to being bored and thinking what the heck - lets pass some time. I know i am what every bookie loves - a mug gambler, so shall i just quit while im behind?..waaaaaay behind.
Why did you go into the Hills shop in the first place? Why not just stick your money on Man U early this morning (or last night) and go out for the day? (Not to a bookies, obviously..)

Well luck has very little to do with it. If he had no intention of even playing the horses, but then goes on to play 15 bets over an hour and a half (that's one bet every six minutes!!), I'd suggest he has quite a gambling problem. And playing like that, you're going to get hit by a run of 'bad luck' at some stage.

Take it that you didn't even make it too the counter then to place your football bet on, did man u win as I don't follow football at the moment?
Last time I went in bookies regularly was in march and I could stop winning, went into shops about seven times and won hundreds each time but rarely backing favorites except an Irish meeting at leopards town, I came unstuck when I used the same bookies for 5 times and as soon as they had a loop hole they voided the bet losing me £800 which was placed correctly but they didn't want to pay it out and said they are watching all my bets which I knew anyway, so I have give up on them as its pointless using shops that sport crap odds, too many distractions and don't like you winning.
Do you not like using exchanges for your bets as its not in your face and easier to take control of?

Not being funny but you should just self-exclude yourself and give up altogether.
If you cannot walk into the shop - head straight to the football section, fill out the coupon with your stake (which you have already thought about before you've gone into the shop) go to the counter, place your bets, say thanks to the cashier and walk out without betting on stuff you cannot even fancy that much such is the short time period you have to 'study' then you've got NO CHANCE OF WINNING.

I don't think you've set yourself aside a proper betting bank. Your actions in the bookies shows this.
Help yourself to help yourself. Stop betting ,save some cash for a betting bank and take the pressure off.

I doubt his problems are much to do with not having a proper betting bank. 15 bets (few if any, as OGS20 points out, he can have had much of an idea about) in an hour and a half? That shows quite a compulsion to gamble and essentially no self-control. 4 or 5 bets I can understand, but 15?? If his problems are that serious, he'll need more than a bigger bank in order to survive.

Hills were going 8/11 utd in the shops so why would you want to back them at that price when they were better than evens on here
You are £28 worse off for every hundred - madness

That's a poor way to test gambling discipline GCI.
I regularly travel in excess of 100mph on UK motorways, and I do it with COAST principles - Concentration, Observation, Anticipation, Space, Time, or some might prefer OAP - Observation, Anticipation, Planning.
I see piss poor driving all around me every day at or around the speed limit, I'm convinced the last thing on many drivers minds is driving.

I agree with trev its s poor example GCI, the way this lad bets with what he can afford to drive after gambling the only way he can do 110 kph is if he ties his push bike to a lorry and thats almost as dangerous as his betting patterns, crash.
