Over the last year BF have increased the amount of weekly in-play football matches by over 100%, which is a good thing I think. This weekend there was around 193 matches on Saturday and there's around 150 tomorrow, Sunday. We used to get around 70 on weekend days.

Has anyone else noticed though that the quality of suspensions may be suffering a little?

There seems to be matches now that don't suspend at all when a goal is scored - the odds are just wiped. Normally it's suspension/wipe/reopen, but these suspensionless wipes are becoming daily. Anyone else noticed? I notice because Gruss turns suspended matches red and plays a noise, which obviously doesn't happen with suspensionless goals.

Another point which is more serious is that if suspend operatives are expected to monitor more than one match at a time (are they, or have BF increased staff and equipment?) then late suspensions may occur resulting in more hoovering/cheating after a goal but before a suspension.

Today for example the 16.00 kick off Varazdin v RNK Split had a goal in the 2nd minute, and a small amount of money in some markets was hoovered after the goal. When previously unmatched money that's waiting at low odds suddenly gets taken 2 seconds before the goal suspension, it's pretty clear. Anyone else noticed an increase?

I think generally the suspend people do a good job and the whole exchange concept relies on them, so under staffing could be disastrous. It's not easy to monitor 30 plus matches all kicking off at 3pm.

So, I just wondered if other serious football bettors like or dislike the increase in in-play matches, or have noticed any issues?

remove suspension , keep all markets un-managed
Report Feck N. Eejit September 11, 2011 11:33 AM BST
Are most markets not unmanaged anyway?

ocean - why ?  surely that's a licence for fast pic hooverers if i've ever heard one ...it would be just like Tennis.

missed suspend in the birmingham v millwall game

Almost as bad for me is the failure to unsuspend quickly following a goal. Sometimes the markets are still suspended 60 seconds after the goal. If a second goal goes in at this time, a lot of traders are f*cked.

I absolutely hate it when they leave suspend on, infuriating. When I complained a while back about it as I'd just been burned by it (goal, match kicked off again, didn't unsuspend for a good while then did so a couple secs before another goal) their answer was something about needing confirmaton from their official source a goal was scored or something. This makes no sense for most of the markets : everyone watching knows the score and the goal stood as we've just seen them kick off from the centre circle again, and we're watching them play :(

Yes Coach there was quite a few matches today that didn't suspend for a goal, they just wiped the odds and slowly they reformed after the goal.

I'm guessing the suspend operatives have 3 big buttons, [SUSPEND], [WIPE ODDS], [REOPEN] !

If they're stretched having to cover 2 matches each, they just hit the [WIPE ODDS] button for speed. They obviously must be getting instant confirmation of the goal from their official source ;)
