Dear Mr.

Thank you for your e-mail.

We regret to inform you that we have closed your account and it will not be reopened. Please read the following from our terms and conditions:

https://help.bwin.com/General/Legal/sportsbook_tac.aspx

A1.2 Who is not allowed to bet:

Bets by order and from bookmakers as well as betting agents are not permitted. Bets on events in which the bettor is participating (“participating” in this sense relates to those persons involved as a sportsperson, athlete, as an owner, trainer or functionary of a participating club) or those which are commissioned by any person participating, are not permitted. In addition, bets on league, cup or other events in which the respective club/organisation is participating may not be placed or commissioned by those persons considered to be participating in the respective event. In the case of violation of these regulations, the company reserves the right to refuse payment of any winnings and already invested stakes as well as to cancel any bets. The company takes no responsibility for knowing if the user is a member of one of the mentioned groups. This means that the company is entitled to undertake any necessary measures at any time after the user has become known as being a member of one of the mentioned groups.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further queries.

Sorry to hear of your problem with this bookmaker, I have had trouble with bookmakers not honoring the wager before so I can sympathize with your situation, I googled account closed with bwin and it
seems its all too familiar a story with this bookmaker and a lot of them have convenient clauses
in there agreements which mean they can shut you down and steal your money legally which is the reason
why the father of one of the founders of betfair was an mp that tried to have bookmakers closed down
because of there criminal beginnings pre legalization.

MY only advice is stick to exchanges you may get charged commission or premium charge but they wont steal your money or close you down for no reason other than being successful as is the case with all bookmakers .

Should they not ask this question when you open an account?

Does it mean every bet ever placed on the account becomes void?

Those t&cs are bullsh1t.

In particular:

Bets on events in which the bettor is participating (“participating” in this sense relates to those persons involved as a sportsperson, athlete, as an owner, trainer or functionary of a participating club

That could include the groundsman or tea lady.

If you've done nothing wrong, contact sbr (sportsbook review) who have quite a lot of influence getting companies to pay out. I assume that having a bet voided is the problem, of course they have the right to close your account as does any company.
