We live in such a nannying/ health and safety/ compensation era that the police are now more fearful of the legislation than the thugs, hence why they appear to be doing nothing. If one of the thugs gets hurt by a police baton the dogooders scream police brutality, which leads to court and compensation to the thug.
Young thugs now have no fear or respect, they feel untouchable because human rights legislation will protect them from any real deserved punishment. Parents can't touch them, teachers can't touch them, police can't touch them. If society hadn't become so soft we wouldn't be seeing these riots I'm sure. |
