If the Super Premium Charge (PC2) is such good news, surely Betfair should advertise this to entice potential new customers?

Advert:
"We charge our biggest winners between 40% and 60%.  This ensures that Betfair will have the most profitable Exchange platform model.  This is good news for customers (except the 40-60%ers)"

If done properly, this could attract, literally, a few customers.

They should also do a programme showing how some of the 60%ers do it and how easy it is to make a fortune on betfair. That would attract more than a few and wouldn't cost them any business as everyone is aware that "some transmissions described as live may in fact be delayed".

Maybe they could show the clock beaters sunning themselves in their Spanish villa. A three part series called Mad Dogs in which criminals attempt to extract 60% protection money from them in exchange for not dobbing them in to the GC.

They could have a guy with a pint of milk and show him being punched in the gob by a gigantic David Yu in a sumo suit, the two punters think they're fine, but Yu runs off with their beers.

Tagline: Cutting out the middleman, and the punters.

In response, Betfair said its claims were accurate because its charging mechanism is “more transparent and straightforward than that of a traditional bookmaker” and that the in-ad text stating that terms and conditions applied was sufficient.

If you'd placed £10 on all winning Match odds bets on Premier League games. You'd have won £56 MORE than with the same bets made with Stan James

If you'd placed £10 on all winning Match odds bets on Premier League games. You'd have won £59 MORE than with the same bets made with Victor Chandler

number of bets is over 250, so thats 60 quid better off after wagering £2500+

If you were backing favs in football every week and were able to make use of all bookie's odds, then you would almost certainly be worse off using betfair.

Had to laugh at BF claiming its charging mechanism is “more transparent and straightforward than that of a traditional bookmaker.  Explaining commission to a newbie would be hard enough.  Move on to PC and super PC and you haven't a hope in hell.

Meanwhile for each £80 I have on ManU @11/8 with Hills to win £110 and they beat City, then guess what - I win £110.  For each £80 I have on here at 2.32, then who knows what I might get back.

I thought Betfair give 20% better odds than the bookmaker. Are them days gone now?
Report catfloppo August 9, 2011 11:55 AM BST
I actually think they should advertise it, imposing extra charges on the most 'efficient' players putting them at a slight disadvantage to new blood.  It would both publicise the potential success to be had on the site and and improved opportunity to do it.
Report Feck N. Eejit August 9, 2011 2:19 PM BST
Ratner did that catfloppo. He reckoned anyone who bought his gold understood it was sh1te so there was no harm in advertising the same. While betfair are at it, they should advertise that people are betting ir over half a furlong behind others and on other sports are stuck behind the clock for 7 seconds while the offer makers decide whether they want their bet or not. After all, everyone knows some broadcasts described as live may in fact be delayed.

Betfair should just shut down all the clock beating sports like tennis, golf and horse racing. Football and politics only!
