this statement below is taken from the pro-trader evolution forum and is quite correct in its facts!

Did you take into account that ****)'s volume figures are a bit misleading? For instance, on ****) a 10 quid bet matched at a price of 50 shows up as matched volume of 500.

Betfair are a bit tricky too as they count the backer and layer stake but still the same bet would only show as 20 matched volume on betfair as opposed to 500 on ****) so it's very hard to compare what the actual matched volume differences are on the same market without working it all out.

So you see pro-punters wont be running there for huge rewards but for tiny side servings of profit that just dont stack up to what the market leader betfair can offer punters!

Isnt it about time that betfair hit back and used the same magic liquidty inflating system as ****) to show how much volume and potential profit is solid in the betfair system and how it just keeps getting better and bigger with more markets and profits!

GO ON BETFAIR ADOPT THERE MATCHED SYSTEM AND SHOW EVERYONE HOW FAR BEHIND THE OTHER EXCHANGE
REALLY IS!

Please replace ****) with betduck or duckpond , they dont have any excuse for being so far behind as they have been around as long as betfair, but betfair have out performed them and always will.

And if pro punters do want a side serving of profit and use both sites then you can bet they will have to address there losses in commission if the top guns fleece the crowds over there, so they cant maintain tiny profits forever without a future pc of there own, behind closes doors you can bet they have discussed the possibility unless there just not serious about being competitive which is what there performance figures really suggest when compared to betfairs !

Correct nairda. Some people not up to working that out.

Odd, as it's pretty obvious.

Given the nature of high volume betting which is typically at odds on, it is arguable that Betfair's approach is as equally unhelpful.

I am not sure about football but surely thats a 3 way result, home, away and draw so if the average odds are 2/1 for each type of result then 10 on bd would show up as 30, and 10 on bf would show up as 20
50% in favour of bd assumed figure? correct me if I am wrong on this one

Odds on items are quite thin on the ground except on football perhaps this favours BD figures?

-Virtually every in play event will have an odds on option at some point.
-Any binary event will almost certainly have an odds on option.
-Any endeavour where there can be a strong favourite will have odds on options.

I think you should stop posting on this thread and ask Betfair to delete it.

Quite revealing.
Report bf_fananatic August 7, 2011 4:49 PM BST
Its common knowledge to pro punters and it in no way bad for betfair, this is a un-fair matched market figure by there one of there rivals and customers should know about it!
Report bf_fananatic August 7, 2011 4:52 PM BST
in the PR stakes this sort of information is REAL information and I cant see why betfair would delete this thread? I wouldnt be able to post this on the duck ponds forum as it shows how the duck pond hides the truth!

Betfair's figures are bloated by ping-pong money. Can't imagine there being much of the famous Ferengi "liquidity" bloating betd@q's figures.
Report inner city sumo August 7, 2011 5:01 PM BST
Probably because it shows when there are odds on eventualities in any event the alternative method of calculation will be an underestimate relative to Betfair's method.
Report weatherman2004 August 7, 2011 5:02 PM BST
What is "common knowledge" is that which is true.

Some markets overstate liquidity on here and understate elsewhere.

You're only talking about multi-runner events. You should have made that expicit, but you appear not to understand.

Most match odds markets on tennis (not a big exchange sport?), soccer, rugby etc would give lower numbers elsewhere. With 3 runner fields in running the majority of activity is on the favourite, especially once it goes below 2. You should know that.

I wasn't saying it was in Betfair's interests to delete this thread - I was saying it was in yours.

I dont have much knowledge of tennis and football but I know its quite popular here and elsewhere and this area seems to be where its more level a betting playing field, perhaps this thread should of indicated race events not all events!

If you think ir tennis is a level playing field you certainly don't have much knowledge of it.
