Does anyone imagine that if any other firm got even close to betfairs massive liquidity lead(10 fold) that they wouldnt have to start charging a premium charge to sustain there growth, to maintain payments to all creditors and winners, or that they wont increase there charges, smell the coffee pilgrims and worshipers of exchange models!

p.s. sorry to burst your bubble >

whats this obsession with growth ?
By:

When: 30 Jul 11 23:23
if a business cant grow it will fail, if you open a pie shop and its pies are the best and then you cant meet demand or reduce the waiting time for customers, you either

1...quickly decide to expand and one day possibly your hollands pies (grow)

2...go down the chit pipes(wither)

does that explain growth!

do you want to place a bet on that, that the next rise on charges will be on another exchange

a certain 2.5% charge is due to change pretty soon!

an at least 90% drop in expected maximum matched amounts thus profits awaits any pro-gambler that mutinies to other exchanges, how about that for an effective pc3 Laugh

The recreational punter's dream :-

- All the big winners turn purple and grind each other to dust.

- A diluted pool of punters remain here giving us all a better chance of making modest profits from our leisure time.

the leading exchanges options and outocomes!

1.....Having now a leash on loses that occur from top groups superiority over losers and efficiency of best exchange, betfair strain other exchanges who try to copcat betfairs over-round by tighting up market!

2....Other exchange is forced to raise its comms charge because cant compete at market model  from option 1

3....Pressure from pro-gambler hardcore using leading exchange and other exchanges at same time to offset there charges forces other sites with increasing losses from revenues to introduce a premium charge to cost for growth and sustainability !

4....Betfairs foresight to adopt charging system that charges according to profit level first
gives them funds to out compete other exchanges on offers, products, growth and incentives to customers.

Let's hope that the other exchange increases its charges otherwise Betfair directors will look like a bunch of cowboys.

I suspect it will only happen if they get to the size of betfair and adopt their same open exchange attitude.

Mr. Angry ... it is clearer to me that mr. bf_fanatic has been the one internally supporting and justifying the introduction of the PC2 ...

Mr. bf_ fails to mention what happens if the "other" exchanges will not waste the money in Casino Games and the like ... but of course that would mean taking the truth into account ...

Yes, O2, T-Mobile and others are talking about the introduction of data caps to manage "network growth" and "be able to survive" ... whilst anyone with any knowledge about telecomms knows that this is a true lie and the data caps are only intended to increase the bonuses of top executives that have promised to find new revenue streams ...
By:
bf_fananatic
When: 31 Jul 11 09:42
regarding mobile operators using data caps, do you mean capping the overall data capacity of each operator to reduce the need for constant infra-structure expansion or is there some other meaning and if the first mentioned interpretation is the case then please explain how this relates bonuses of top execs and what on earth the relationship of top staffs wages and bonuses has too do with this thread!

p.s. mr bf_fanatic is not a member of the staff of bf and is yet another wild accusation by you saint, really I have missed your jelly minded banter for a week now, have you been away somewhere, was the rubber wallpaper pretty where you were staying? welcome back

it is clearer to me that mr. bf_fanatic has been the one internally supporting and justifying the introduction of the PC2

I take this statement of yours to indicate I am operating my posts internal of the bf company, explain otherwise as you have to now justify your last post ?
By:

When: 31 Jul 11 10:07
bff, just like others have pointed out: go and have a bet ... it will sooner or later help you understand that no brightness is behind this decision.

you may even then start posting something sensible ... and even then you may start reading what others post and even come close to understand it.

If you really can't understand what a "data cap" is, you then won't understand what the PC is and why it has nothing to do with a profitable business model.

But of course, if this is all about spreading corporate propaganda, every penny you get is well spent, given how you are obliterating sensible posts from many and opening new posts to push the old and interesting ones down the drain.

does by no means imply that you are internal staff. Your lack of experience in any kind of business is even clearer now. Yet another reason to understand why you to claim the PC to be the "most brilliant business decision ever"
By:

Not as feeble as those claiming it is a terrible business decision just because it reduces their own ability to profit.

Anyone claiming to have superior business sense and then accusing betfair of corporate "fat catting" of bonuses when they have maintained year by year profit growth from a marginal business is talking out of there exhaust pipe!

perhaps you are borrowing your metaphors from the media and confusing the issue with the banks
current reward system in-equality!
By:
saint-pilgrim
When: 31 Jul 11 10:35
cat,

Whether it will be a brilliant or a terrible business decision will only known with time.

But having a troll constantly opening misleading posts and spreading corporate propaganda and stating things like: "that your supposed knowledge and obsession with me is most mystifying" is not what people need.

betfair have performed very well over the years, won top business awards and done what it says on the tin, encouraged winners, they still want to sustain winners but in a "fairer" way when they take money so quickly off all the losers of there matching and out of the system from betfair!

or do you not really take any notice of all that is printed in newspapers saint, just what suits you!

I very much like this bf-fananatic

I think I've spotted the genius in his plan.

We all think he's connected to Betfair, where he is in fact a disgruntled pc payer.

His posts have done more to galvanise antipathy towards the PC than any other poster's. He comes on here calling us "weak-willed" etc, and saying things so ridiculous that he must know them to be untrue. It's a deliberate attempt to spur us into action.

Very clever.

Drat have I been uncovered,I knew I should of put my spectacles on today and not my false beard, what a give awayLaugh

To be honest at first like everyone I was shocked at the %60 pc2 charge and thought it a bit extreme so I went though phases like everyone else thinking oh its greed, oh they dont want winners, etc
but then I had a good think about it and looked at the figures, 500 or so have made over £250,000
and did some calculations and I didnt add in those on pc1 which make also good profit, then I looked at what betfair make generally out of there business, its all there on the stocks sheets and I realized that unlike bookmakers , betfair are really paying out to regular winners and not all playing fair as there trading, forcing the prices up and down, I have noticed the yo-yo ing effect of prices much more wavey than in the old days, perhaps if the clever trading bots are manipulating the pricing structure then algorithms could smooth the effect to reduce over-trading but hey am
going off the path so to conclude.

betfair have had to bring this new charge in to stabilize the exchange fluidity of money else theres real problems in the future as there must be more of winners persisting and less new customers coming in the sporting exchange as there is much wider betting product choice now, so diversity has watered down there core product!

I myself am not a trader , more like most of you I like to predict outcomes of races, not that i am saying thats the main sporting market as sports itself has diversified in last so many years
I know if I am ever successful then I would have to pay pc2 like everyone else but I have conceded that we all need to stay positive about the betfair exchange model and except there will be changes, the only alternative would be bookmakers which I have had personal problems with and know they monitor your winnings, even the staff keep tabs on any new punter in there shops that bet big and win, or use another exchange, but there is a certain other exchange that has the cheek to copy all betfairs prices but lie about there liquidity, there actual matched value is calculated to make them look worthy but uts false, I think that betfair should change there matched calculation method to copy the other sites to show how they really stack up, if they can copy bf prices then bf can copy there magnified matched total money calc method to show how far behind they are.

Hope this post has cleared things up, am not a member of bf staff but just a hopeful winner one day that wants to make sure betfair can afford to pay me if I do win and charge me according to the level of profit that is delivered before charging.

anyway I like a challenge so reduced profits can only make me more efficient and everyone else too[;)]

Well don't tell anyone frog but I have a system, my mate puts a jacket on the hare saying trap 7 and some glasses and a false beard and I put a massive bet on trap seven, the bookie gets suspicious so I assure him that the dog has bad eyesight and is quite old with a beard, he takes all my money off me and quickly gives me 500/1 oh its brilliant, I got in a bit of trouble with the system last time though, a lady put a lead on and tried to walk our double agent hare pre-race and the hare set off, she ended up with one arm longer than the other, the promise you wont tell anyone [;)]
