NOT BRAGGING [;)] But I do OK on Betfair, but the problem is the Horse racing. I hate betting on it, but when I get bored I have a small punt - you know the rest - win, lose, chase, CHASE.
If only I could delete where it says "next horse race". I'm sure many people have this problem, anyone any TIP's  on how I can cure this fooking  problem (  no horse racing tips PLEASE !  [:D] )

Find a way not to get bored. There's more to life than having a punt on a horse race.
Report Deltâ July 22, 2011 9:05 AM BST
email betfair - to excluded your a/c on horse racing markets only!

" email betfair - to excluded your a/c on horse racing markets only!"

If only it was that simple [:D]

Lori when I say bored I mean when I'm watching TV and for some reason I don't know why Laugh I click on to ATR and that easy bet sticks out, it wins and I'm up. I'll play with my winnings, lose the winnings and it stings a bit, what happens next ??????? Cry

Self exclude altogether would be my advice. You wont take it but if you just randomly punt then have a mad chase you'll never win.
Hang on, you're just the sort of punter betfair is looking to attract so totally ignore what i previously said and back Lord Emerson in the 1.30 at Thirsk. Good luck.

becareful sport junkie, if betfair reckon you have a gambling problem they will close your account, it may be the home of winners but its not the accepted home of losers!
Report bf_fananatic July 22, 2011 11:16 AM BST
buzzer your wrong again, betfair closed a certain chaps account for saying he was going to go into debt to revenue his gambling, check his thread out, betfair dont want heavy gamblers that dont learn
Report bf_fananatic July 22, 2011 11:19 AM BST
check the thread "anyone on the same boat" to see what betfair thinks of losers using the site?
Report bf_fananatic July 22, 2011 11:20 AM BST
they work in agreement with gamcare and am glad to see they take correct action to help gamblers with a problem!
Report bf_fananatic July 22, 2011 11:22 AM BST
actually sport junkie you should be ok cos you say you do ok on here and dont wish to brag so hopefully your words reflect your winnings and losses
Report Eldrick July 22, 2011 11:36 AM BST
have you tried using tip-ex on the bit of the screen where it says "next horse race?"
Report buzzer July 22, 2011 11:40 AM BST
SIR_Bond will have been reported by someone, if he'd lost 100k and not come on the forum betfair wouldn't have been bothered at all. Once he'd started that thread and been reported by someone betfair would have to be seen to be doing something. They state themselves they need losing punters to feed the few winners, they just want these losers to be seen as recreational punters betting and losing within their means not problem gamblers! I personally know an arber who is - over 150k on here, yes the place that offers 20% better prices Laugh, and  has never been contacted by betfair to see if he can afford these losses.
Report bf_fananatic July 22, 2011 11:47 AM BST
i bet they never said they need new losing punters, do you think they all smoke funny ****, they probably said they need new customers , like all businesses need them, I have noticed there is a lot of mis-quoting going on with many forum people, "he said that", "they want this", etc and
its all selfish interest orientated and not helpful to anyone else.

I haven't the time to dig up all the comments they have made about only 2% make a profit on betfair and only 0.01% are affected by the new PC, so betfair themselves are stating the majority of their customers are losers so I've no idea why you're attempting to say otherwise!
Report thankyoumugs July 22, 2011 12:30 PM BST
stop yourself chasing your losses by jumping in a cold bath of water for 4mins, you will go into shock, but it wont be because your losing all your cash.

It's quite funny really but I disagree with just about everything that bf_fanantic posts!

Rocket summed up the situation well on Bond's thread, but bf_fan just ignores (or doesn't read) posts that explain the truth.

How can anybody determine if somebody is a problem gambler on here or not?  Some people look at 25k in the hole and think oh be **** really, others look at it and think yeah my last 25k bet didn't come off either...  You can't judge somebodys position on what you personally think is a lot of money.  There are a lot of people that treat this as entertainment and accept that they are going to lose long term, a lot will spend a lot and not care.

As I posted on the other thread, a ridiculous act by BF to ban a guy for saying he was chasing losses - that's almost every poster on these forums! Laugh
