Be realy grateful if anyone can help me solve this problem, as betfair cant.
Im trying to lay a bunch of runners in each UK horse race on here, to SP, however i dont want to lay to a liability, i want to lay a straight stake on each regardless of price.
If you click the SP button you can only lay to liability.
If you order up lays conventionally, then click take SP option, my bets are just cancelled at the start of the race instead of being matched up.
Anybody else have this problem?
Im wondering if its because im running XP with an old IE (6.0 i think)

As long as you're laying the minimum liability of £10 per bet you shouldn't have any problem. What stakes/odds are you laying , have you remembered to click save changes after ticking take sp?

Ah thanks Joe, yes im definately leaving in take SP but im trying to lay fixed stake of just a fiver on several horses to place, so i suppose on the shorter ones at say 2.50 the liability is less than a tenner.
Ive only come across this min liability when trying to lay SP to a liability though, nothing is mentioned when clicking on take SP at start, bets just cancel.
Ive just layed to a liability of just 6 quid no problem, but not with SP.  Will try again 2moro.

Like magician states if the bet is unmatched at the off if your liability on the bet  is less than £10 it just won't get placed into the BSP reconciliation.

What is the minimum stake for an SP bet?

The minimum stake for a back bet at SP is £2 (or the local currency equivalent). The minimum liability if laying is £10 (or the local currency equivalent).

I haven't checked this yet, but I'd be pretty sure that lay bets with 'take SP' checked convert to SP bets at the liaibility of the exchange bet, not at the stakes of the exchange bet.

The reason the lay SP bets have to be in terms of liability is otherwise the system couldn't check if layers had the cash to cover their position until after the SP had been calculated, at which point any layers who couldn't cover their bets would have to be excluded, and then the SP calc run again, and then check the layers liaibilities again, and then....

With lay SP bets in terms of liaibility it gets checked when they're placed.

Like I say, I haven't checked but that makes sense to me...
