great news ,betfair have signed up jim bowen as their face of multoiplies, kile andy gray ,micheal vaughan,- jim will be the main guy and will be promoting the benefits of this great value bet.

why jim bowen

betfair spokesman - jim was poular in the 1970s/80s,and all our older customers remember him well, its also the time of micheal dickenson - where regulary every saturday ,silver buck, bregawn and wayward lad would win - but the starting price was - NO SP returned,as they were that big a cert.

as customers known ,betfair will and can trade out any risks/liabilties they have in the multiplies - so if you ve got 4 out of 5 - expect the betfair SP to be - 0.0 or no sp returned,

jim as knidly offered to phone up any multiple winners and when they see the industry sp 10/1 ,yet betfairs 0.0 - then jim will brighten up their day when he will utter is classic line .

:LETS SEE WHAT YOU WOULD OF WON.

Very funny Feck, but not beyond the realms of possibility given this mob's antics recently. Another 36p off their share price yesterday.

No suprise if the price hits 4 quid in the coming weeks, and if they do, I for one wouldn't like to have a six figure sum in my bank. Beware the 40% doesn't turn into 100%. (If you catch my drift)
Report Lori July 16, 2011 1:36 PM BST
Im assuming the plan is to crash the shares to about £3.25 and then buy them back, followed by an announcement regarding the 60% charge of "Just kidding"
Report stewarty b July 16, 2011 4:45 PM BST
I'm planning to buy at 2 quid Lori. If they tumble again, where will we post?
Report ballabriggs July 16, 2011 6:04 PM BST
If Betfair share price get very low, what if Betfair has money left over when £50m share buyback have bought all Betfair share?

Jesus Christ Feck, on those bets alone only a small profit.

Not Bad For A Boy, beaten a shd, thought that would have traded far lower than 1.24?

Did you finish up for the day altogether? I got sh@gged by the Cecil beast in the 2.35. That Steadie Eddie does me very few favours, but there will have been a lot of eyes on him in that race.....

I will keep a beady eye on him on short priced FAVS he rides in the future.

Having said that, after the withdrawls I was tempted to back the beast, but that's horseracing.

Not for me to advise a successful punter, but have you ever considered drip feeding smaller stakes in the place markets? The 6.55 not a good example for that having backed half the field, but the amount of close calls/places you're getting???
Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 1:17 PM BST
** Obviously your ratings are doing the buisness.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 17, 2011 1:27 PM BST
I had another 3 big money seconds after that stewarty and ended the day 7K down. If my betting was automated I'd use the place market but it takes up too much of my time manually drip feeding into the win market to bother with the often trivial amounts available in the place markets. I'm not far off automating my betting but form study still takes up a lot of time and I'm not sure I can be @rsed paying betfair 40% for the privilege of feeding copycats information and filling in insiders.

Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 2:33 PM BST
Feck, a couple of Q's if you don't mind. (actually there's four, but one has gone out my mind for the time being).

1) I was under the assumption that you were fully atuomated now. As I'm not clued up about these things, is that akin to havin your own bot?

2)Apart from maybe doing the odd scoop six on the jumps if there's a few good rollovers, do you leave well alone, and if so, may I ask why?

3)Not really a question, but if I was you with your ratings, I would seriously consider the place markets, especially saturdays and the big meetings. Surely you could cover the win stakes?

4) I remember now, even at 1/4 the stakes the losing runs would kill me!!

I'm a half decent reader of the form Feck, but if I could get Mr Murdoch to hack into your account for the ratings, I reckon I could start up a decent tipping service and put my feet up and relax.  Laugh

stewarty

1) The odds compiling is automated to a certain degree but I've still got to do race reading tweaks. My betting isn't automated YET.

2) I hope to eventually adapt the programme to rate jumps but I currently need the time between flat turf seasons for working on the programme.

3) Will do when betting is automated.

I've considered a tipping service. With this new charge I've seen a lot of Ferengi saying they'd make more teaching other people how to trade for them. I'm maybe in the same position now i.e. I'd be better off getting other people to bet for me (not on betfair I might add as they'd be cutting each other's throats).
Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 3:21 PM BST
Thanks for the reply Feck. I hope you do better today. I have my eye on one beast today later on . I might 'selection' it on horseraceing later.

AS for.....

2) I hope to eventually adapt the programme to rate jumps

I'm still at a loss there Feck. I understand you need the time, but do you like the jumps? From my point of view I know only too well what it's like to have one cruising, only to make a bad blunder.

Last week I backed a R.Hills beast and won a nice sum, only to be destroyed by two despicable jumps rides in the evening.

I genuinely thought you had no time for the game.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 17, 2011 3:22 PM BST
Only from a cruelty aspect stewarty.
Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 4:24 PM BST
That does suprise me Feck, honestly.

I see adverts on TV for dogs, donkeys etc abroad.

It wasn't until we got our own dog approx 18 months ago that I personally can't abide the ill treatment of animals.

Although always against cruelty, I look at some of these adverts and try to imagine our dog going through similar.

I don't donate to these charities with direct debits, but we do donate a lot of fancy stuff to their charity shops. (self praise is no praise, I have no sainthood)

Long story short, any significant donations I make go to cancer recearch and alzheimer's disease.

Anyways Feck, your post.....  Only from a cruelty aspect stewarty.

I can't agree with you there Feck, so instead of going round in circles, I'll agree to disagree with you on that matter.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 17, 2011 4:51 PM BST
Why did you think I had no time from the game stewarty. The only anti jumps posts I've made were regarding fatalities.
Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 4:55 PM BST
Probably because you don't post on horseracing during the jumps season Feck, and we do have the AW meetings at the same time mostly.
Report stewarty b July 17, 2011 4:59 PM BST
*Plus the fact that there are plenty of fallers, brought downs and unseated riders.
Report Feck N. Eejit July 17, 2011 5:32 PM BST
That's factored into the odds stewarty. True that my posting rate plummets during the jumps as I don't have to post my jockey gripes. Laugh

Six bets yesterday Feck, five winners. One of them was a small 'trial trade' although i was sure when I greened up, the horse I backed showed about 70 quid profit with all the rest about 34 quid. The horse I backed was beat yet I only  only won a fiver?? I didn't have my reading glasses on so may have been mistaken.

Anyways, I hope the tide is about to turn...

WD stewarty. I withdrew my balance on Monday. Don't know if or when I'll return but assuming I do it won't be until I'm automated (on purple as well).

Jesus Christ Feck. That's something I thought you said you would never entertain?

Have you heard feedback from TM's excursion that maybe gave you food for thought? (no offence if you can't answer)
Report Feck N. Eejit July 20, 2011 12:54 PM BST
The charge I could accept stewarty but I just think betfair have had their go and recent announcements suggest they intend to stray even further from what a betting exchange should be. Maybe Dermot will be a better listener.
Report stewarty b July 20, 2011 2:34 PM BST
Well Feck, whatever happens, don't be a stranger. I might post on this thread from time to time to give you my gripes!

If you do ever hit purple, please don't steal any of my money!!

PS As for the charge, I could not and would not ever accept it. ie. My next large bet will be at Goodwood. Enough liquidity for me at Dermot's place.
