Neither "craap" nor brilliant.
Unless I happen to be very mistaken, Betfair Rapid (like other API products you may use from vendors/developers who are not affiliated with Betfair but have undergone the Betfair Verification process) simply uses the Betfair API to present the prices to you. It is just another interface to the prices. And those prices are the same that you can get via the Web Interface. If the prices differ (it was ages ago when I last used Betfair Rapid) is because the Web Interface (and also some of the API products) displays "Virtual Prices". They are called virtual, because they are generated by using the existing prices. This "Virtual Prices" close the visual gap for humans but are mathematically equivalent (except for the excess rounding which is taken away) for backing/laying purposes. Placing a in-play bet before the start of the event is no great feat, so some API products which are 100% free may help you. Some of the non-free will surely do too. You can check the forum for the announcement of Software Products ("Anouncements" -> "API Products") and/or you can browse the Betfair Solutions Directory (solutions.betfair.com) |

That seems like a very technical ANSWER from saint-pilgrim. Could it be the last poster on here is a BETFAIR employee?

Even with most information at the reach of our fingertips it still seems that doing some basic research before posting is always difficult ... shooting in the dark is a lot easier ...
