Jeezo.

A lot harder than you may think.

I am trying to hunt down a decent monitor (two, in fact) to replace my current set up.

I don't want widescreen I want the more traditional square ones. It seems impossible to source these now, they all seem to be widescreen.

Any help is appreciated.

Secondhand or exchange shops probably your best bet.
Last time I was in my local exchange they were going for about £50.

Or you could try your local Freecycle network.
Or Ebay?

Damn is it really that hard to source them?

Flat screen non-widescreen.

"Impossible to source?" "harder than you think"

Just go to dabs, tick "non widescreen", 55 different models of the **kers, took 30 seconds!

Got a link?

I went to the site and couldn't find what you described.

By the way are you a Daily Mail reporter?

It would have been more decent to quote this:

"It seems impossible to source"

Gin thanks for the reply but 19 square seems a tad small especially for a hundred bangers a pop.

Is that as cheap as it's going to get ?

www.dabs.com, click on desktops and monitors, click on monitors, right there on the left in big writing
Max Resolution
Widescreen (233)
Non-Widescreen (55)

You move the mouse thingy and click on "Non-Widescreen".

No wonder you're struggling! Internet for dummies is available on Amazon Devil.

Rocket, I'll be in the same boat soon, I've had my 15 inch flat screen for about 9 years, but it's never missed a beat! I hate wide screen tv's or monitors, how ppl can live with them is a mystery to me.

Size wise, you say 19" is small? That would be huge to me! I like small because I think it fks the eyes up less than staring at a bigger screen all day long, and everything fits on fine.

19" normal is a good size; 19" widescreen is TINY.

You could always buy widescreen and just put masking tape down the sides.

Always here to help.
