..do you go to the back of the queue?. For example i have money to lay Madrid at 1.40 tonight, its been there for a couple of days and is pretty much at the front of the queue. Current price to back is 1.41. I have my bet in as a cancel bet (as always!) but out of interest, if i now changed it (market still not in play) to a "keep" bet would i go to the back of the queue again?. There is about 250k at 1.40 at this stage!
thanks

No, you will remain at the same place in the queue, but just be aware that if it goes inplay and still are unmatched when/if there is an unplanned outage, your unmatched bet will not be cancelled when the site is back up again.

Thanks Eddie. Usually its one or the other for me, pre-event bet, or in-running. But i don't leave it up before the off, to keep in-play. However, i might with this one and see if gets matched in the first few seconds. Its a shame the scenario you mention is always a risk on here nowadays.

Bet matched just before kick-off anyway. Cue 5-0 Madrid!

It's also not cancelled after a GOAL, which surprises a lot of people. I've placed keep bets to keep place in queue and then been hoovered as I forgot and end up kicking myself, it's counterintuitive imho.

(I seem to remember reading the purple place does move modified bets to back of the queue, that's a + for BF as nobody likes being queue jumped)

Yes, as not everyone uses keep bets, I've even spoken to people who make loads on here who were unaware of that.

There's a very good reason keep bets aren't removed after goals, and that is that it is a great way (but risky) to get queue position, and if used properly, a licence to print money.

I think Betfair should have two kinds of keep bet, one to keep in play (but cancel after goal/red card), and another to keep under any circumstances.

I lost £4k due to keep bets when I forgot to cancel them and my internet went down at the same time. My own fault, but if the option was there, I'd be using keep bets much more frequently.

The ability to change a bet to a keep bet in play would also be useful.

Agree completely.

The current system is discriminatory towards Australians because the only way we can bet inplay (without telephoning) is by using the Keep option.
