If I layed it at 10 and I made it 11 I'd want to back it at anywhere between 12-1000

Pointless backing it at 1000, may as well just collect the lay Laugh

pre race you should be looking at anything from 12 to 15 to be in for a reasonable shout.

Not if the match is yet to start.

Very simply, the Green up formula for a lay bet that has already been placed is:  Bb=(Pl/Pb)*Bl

where:
Bb is the required green up back amount, Pl is the price at whch the intial lay was made, Pb is the future price that you are looking

If you have already laid a team at an amount of 300 pounds at a price of 1.2 pounds:

And if you look to place a green up back order at a prospective price of 3.0 pounds, you must then Back it for 120 pounds.

120=(1.2/3.0)*300

The profit is always then (Bl-Bb) = (300-120)=80
