Might the mathematically gifted consider the following question which my daughter has to answer for an exam revision:
A biased coin is spun twice. The probability that it will come down heads both times is 00.36.
Calculate the probability that it will come downtails both times.

0.36 or 36% represents the probablility of a head squared so to work out the probability of a head calculate the square root of 0.36. This works out as 0.6 or 60%.
Therefore the probability of a tail is 0.4 or 40% and the probability of two tails is 0.4 squared which is 0.16 or 16%. |
