Have I missed something, or is the refund of commmission on a few events seriously only mentioned on their PROMOTIONS page?

Presumably I've missed some sort of announcement about this?

I have now found mention of this on two different parts of the betfair website. I'm confused. Is it a pre-planned promotion. Or is it a compensatory measure? Answers please betfair.

1) "Thank you for your patience following recent issues with the betfair.com site. We sincerely apologise for the frustration this caused.

We have listened to your feedback and, in recognition of your loyalty, we would like to offer you a 100% commission refund on a selection of this week's top markets."

2) "Celebrate a bumper week of betting with a unique offer that means you won't pay commission on selected markets.

As one of the biggest betting weeks of the year gets underway Betfair are delighted to offer customers a 100% commission refund.

The Cheltenham Festival throws up a feast of betting opportunities and this offer means you can make the most of them.

You can now place bets on a variety of big races knowing that, within 24 hours of the markets settling, we will refund the commission fee back into your account. This means you won't pay a penny of commission on these bets.

And it's not all about the racing - the commission refund offer also applies to some of the week's biggest football matches, including Manchester United's Champions League against Marseille, as well as World Cup cricket and Six Nations Rugby."

Just to highlight part of that second bit of text.

On another part of their website betfair advertise this commission refund as

"A UNIQUE OFFER"

Compensation my arse.
