can someone get 100k on a horse at betfair sp?

You can get any amount on but the more you put on the lower the sp will likely be.

I've always taken the view that the projected Betfair sp is a very important element in this as it is an indicator to compare against the actual prices on offer at the time.
If you put a large bet on at BF SP it would obviously have an effect on the projected BF SP and that very fact would serve to influence the liquidity of the BF SP market from then on until the projected figure returns to normality. |

That's what betfair thought swift-tuttle. They imagined that pouncing equilibrium restoring value seekers (PERVS) would bring the sp into line. The problem is that once that started to happen the betfair sp market would become a spoofer's paradise and the projected sp's would become so useless that the PERVS would soon disappear and it would return to its mickey mouse status. Betfair's obsession with visible queues (their so called "transparency") fks the site up for everyone bar information parasites.

I don't know, isn't that denying what is actually happening?
I, too, would be interested to know the volumes bet at Betfair SP as opposed to the main market. Is there any way of finding this out? |

In the 'Market Information' for a race, showing what's matched on normal market, there's a column showing SP bet/laid volumes. Is this the item you're looking for?

I thought that the Betfair SPs have been very close to a 100% book... surely this shows that the system is working?
