Not being a statistician I ask if the following is basically correct. Over a sample of 500 games, betting at avg. odds of 2.50, the variance would be (500/2.5)*(1-(.1/2.5))= 192 and the standard deviation would thus be the square root of this variance, thus being 13.86. And therefore if I am achieving results better than two standard deviations, it would be statistically significant ?
