Probably a silly question but what's the proper calculation for lay odds?

Say your laying 100 @ 5.0 this works out at 1.25. What's the proper calculation?

thanks

Y=(1/(X-1))+1

where X are the normal odds, Y the inverse/lay odds

Download the Arbcruncher and there is a Price Inverter tool at the bottom. I always use it because you can get confused...

x / (x-1) is an easier way of writing/calculating it.  So if the odds are 5.0 then it is 5.0/4.0 = 1.25
