Hi Guys,

Its my first post on here, i have in the past 4 years ploughed lots of cash into this site. I think i am on the right track and make a bit, but then i lose it.

I try to stick to a plan, such as never more than 30% of my bank, trade out and aim for 10% increase per day.

I tend to do ok, but then the greed monster breaks out and i end up putting it all on stupid things!!!

What help and advice would you give me.

I want to build my bank to a suitable level and aim for 5-10% increase per day, what is the best way to do this or am i barking up the wrong tree.

I am hoping that the vast amount of knowledge and experience on here can be imparted and if you can help me in anyway (positive please), then i will be grateful

Many Thanks

max per day 1%

on a grand bank its a tenner (£9.50 inc comm), if you want a score a day.
save up another grand!

5% to 10% per day , are you serious that is impossible and will never happen.  You need to get realistic and take each day as it comes. Slow and steady wins the race.

I don't understand you mention things like

"I try to stick to a plan, such as never more than 30% of my bank, trade out and aim for 10% increase per day.

I tend to do ok, but then the greed monster breaks out and i end up putting it all on stupid things!!!"

If your system is ok and you can make 10% per day why is the "greed monster" breaking out. If you put £100 into your account and make 10% per day and don't make any withdrawals you only have to wait about 100 days before you become a millionnaire. Can't the "Greed Monster" wait 100 days!

I would say have a good look at your system in place and be honest, is it really this "Greed monster" or maybe a flaw in your system that is holding you back, and maybe you aren't quite on the right track yet.

There was a piece in the Financial Times about a year ago regarding a major fund that claimed they could return up to 20% in a year on this site. That should put things in perspective for you, whether they did or not i couldn't tell you, maybe someone else might know.

bring in a partner, keep with the strategy that you win with and because your sharing your account you wont bet on stupid things. works for us.

I guess you mean Centaur.

The funny thing is that it's not at all scalable. The success is attracting gullible investors, who don't realise that no-one can deploy tens of millions on here and make a high percentage gain. If they were able to do that, they'd eventually make more than all other winners on Betfair combined + Betfair themselves.

If someone could enlighten me on what the level of funds were that they achieved their returns, I would appreciate it. Have a look at their performance charts, and you'll see that almost all their gains were made in early years (obviously with a tiny amount of capital relative to what they are using now).

What is a good way to do it!! i know thats the answer we are all looking for, but what is your technique!!
Report U.A. February 14, 2011 11:39 AM GMT
Yes the simple answer is find a strategy that works or you know that works and then stick to it. Do not deviate, just stick to it. And if you get bored of sticking to it, try sticking to it some more.

Until you find a strategy that works keep your bets very small and use all your focus on trying to find something that works. Oh and keep records of profits and losses, otherwise you'll never really know if what you are doing is working or not.
