so im confused as to what the green and red mean exactly under the the team name when you've place bets...are they profit and loss including stake or excluding it?

They are excluding it, but if you're £100 red on one of the teams, the £100 will be missing from your available balance until after the game because you have to be able to cover your losses.

It would still be present in your account statement however.

The green profit figure is your potential profit (ie excluding your stake).

The red loss figure is your potential loss (ie it *is* your stake).

Not that you'll necessarily see your entire profit - by default it's shown before deduction of commission (click on 'more options' if you want to change this).
