Can only connect by plugging directly from laptop to back of Hub today
As soon as I unplug it to move to another room it cuts off the connection

No way that'll be a BT problem, that'll be your router surely?
And by the sounds of things wifi? router->internet is bt's business, from you to router is your and the routers business (unless leased from BT or something, but still, not BT per se) |
