I've got a mate in Texas...he moved out there and now a US citizen.

He misses the Saturday football coupons and wants to know if theres anyway he can still bet on them like opening an account with an english bookmaker from a us address?

I said no because of the laws but is there any way or any other bookmakers he could try???

Was thinking he could try one of the Australian bookmakers but not sure on the US-Oz laws.

any help appreciated.

thanks guys.

online betting in US, regardless of where the bookie is based, is banned.

I'm not even sure he could email you his selections, for you to then place, tbh.

There are many offshore (Carribean) bookies that accept US citizens. Take a look at sportsbookreview.com to find good ones.

He could have someone he trust(you?) in UK to open an account in that person's name. He could then use the account himself, but would have to do that through a proxy server. He would be doing something illegal in the US, but the chances of being caught and prosecuted is minimal.

Isn't an outrage that in the land of the free (pmsl...sickest joke I have ever heard) they cannot bet without restrictions imposed

But they can wave a flag like no one else

Best not try it in Texas as they dont mess about down there when it comes to law enforcement issues

However if your mate would like to move to say Nevada or Kentucky he should be able to open an on line account with a british bookmaker

gambling is illegal in most countries and for a good reason - it is an idiot tax!  (for 99% anyway)
however it is easy to bet in USA if you want to :

(maybe not illegal in the majority of countries but definitely illegal for most people in the world).
