100.
go to "more options" and click "Display show profit and loss" and "Show what if figure" as well if you haven't already. It'll be obvious what they do. Also, always keep a penny in your account (seriously) because if you go to 0.00 sometimes rounding errors prevent ou from being able to lay , even when you should be able to. |

*That's in win only markets. Obviously in markets with multiple winners you need to be able to cover your maximum loss

Fantastic, thanks for the quick reply.
Does it have to be in the same transaction, or can it be done at different times? |

Different times is fine.
The "Display P+L" puts a number under each selection showing your current position on each runner. If you want to see what that would change to, type in the bet WITHOUT entering it and the "Show what if" option then puts arrows showing what your position would change to (Apparently that option is buggy in Google Chrome) Betfair remembers your position at all times, which is useful for instance if you're laying a team to win the premier league and later want to lay another one (or back the team you laid at higher odds) |

You can also lay the same horse twice and it'll sum the liabilities for you.
for instance if you lay evens and it's backed into 1.7 and you can't resist laying again. |
