Is there any point if all you would do
is pick hunches and guesses ? I wouldn't have thought so, besides aren't guesses and hunches the same thing ? |

Cpmpounding even bets.
My eyes water and my knees tremble at the mere thought of it. Craigy boy is more likely to be in debtor's prison than on an island paradise. |

Probably you mean parlaying not compounding.
For a parlay to work you need an extremely high % win rate. The length of the parlays to be used is calculated by a combination of win% and expected dividend. This is known as a critical length If you had a 75% win rate and the average price was 3.00 the critical length would be 2 As either the price or win % increases so can the length of the parlay. If you do not have at least 75% win rate with average odds of 2/1 forget parlaying you will lose unless extremely lucky on your first few tries. |

Its only a bit of fun after all, surely starting of with a £2 stake is hardly likely to land you in a debtors prison is it?
Okay clever clogs never mind about a 75% win you need to win 100% of the time obviously £2 @ evens = £4 £4 @ evens = £8 and so on after all these sort of challenges are only a bit of fun I appreciate your input and correcting me on my terminology compound magic but are nt you looking a bit too deep into this, and my apologies if my original post was unclear cheers angeline |

Was trying to help by pointing out perils. The 75% win applies to each selections chance not the chance of winning the parlay. Certainly good to have some fun bets, I do that when I go to the races with company and can't devote my time equally to both the company and serious betting. |
