Ladbrokes’ absence from Oddschecker will be extended by a second month as the company reviews the value of being included on the site, a spokesman for the company has told eGaming Review. Earlier this week we reported that the FTSE 250 bookmaker would be removed from the odds comparison site on a trial basis. The spokesman added that it would assess the impact of the temporary withdrawal before deciding whether or not to return. “[The withdrawal is] on a trial basis so we can see if Oddschecker delivers value for us. We might go back but we will look at the impact and see how it is affecting us. This trial will probably last about two months and we will reassess after that," he said.

They want to take bets off punters who don't compare prices
|

Given they invariably offer the worst odds why would they want to pay for the privilege of highlighting the fact? If anything Oddschecker probably costs them money in lost trade.

In days gone by when doing football coupons we always used to laugh at how rubbish their prices were generally. In the Post it high lights the best prices in BOLD on say correct scores and it was not unusual to find Laddies had no bold entries. I agree above that they don't think they want this to be highlighted hence the withdrawal. I still can't understand why nearly everyone doesn't place their bets on here as the odds are generally miles better (unless you are a premium charge payer). Also if you want more than £10 on they'd have to phone their Head Office to check it's OK!!!

Indeed, they don't want their crap uncompetitive prices shown up as others have said.

This is a Betfair myth. There are tons of examples everyday on single figure priced horses, footie favs and probably in most sports where if you can still get on, the high street is the best game in town price-wise. |

By:
e.g quick look at the Welsh National shows me on the first 3 in the betting after commission I am easily beating the BF prices by betting elsewhere. Plus I get guaranteed odds if my horse drifts and on a very rare occasion I'll still get paid out if my horse wins and is disqualified. Also sometimes I might even get my stake back if I finish second to the SP fav or get beaten by a neck or less.

I had my stake limited last time i tried to place a bet with ladblokes. They would only allow me to put half my stake on so i placed it with B365 instead.

Will hill and B365 have been ok with me so far, had no problems with them. Will hill paid out quite quickly last time i bet with them and money was back in my bank within 3 days.

Ladbrokes odds are still displayed on Bestbetting.

By:
i dont think i've had a bet with ladcrokes since they withdrew from oddschecker - its like direct line not being on insurance comparison websites - if you can check the best price from 20 companies can you be bothered to check one on its own - NO
|
|
By:
they're still on Betfinder and were top price on all 3 of my Overs bets on the footy today.
But generally I think they are less competitive hence the withdrawal |

By:
I don't understand the pricing here. I would have thought that it was *Oddschecker* that pays Ladbrokes for the right to display their odds.
After all, oddschecker profit from the service by getting advertising revenue - banner ads, probably also commission for people opening bookie accounts through referrals, etc. There are several other odds comparison websites out there and they are hardly the most complicated websites to run. |

No experience of oddschecker, but I know that teletext was incredibly expensive back in the day!!

Back in the day of what ?
the Flintstones ? |

Lads are gone from all the comparison websites.
People that make a realistic attempt to come out ahead long term can go to pinny and the exchanges, and everyone else is welcome ![]() British books are only slightly better than useless as far as I'm concerned. Coral still let me bet to a £100 liability, the other guys have limited me to peanuts, except bet365 and vc, where I haven't been limited yet, because I only place the occasional bet there. |
