Through the BHA and the Horseracing Betting Levy Board, Mr Roy has been in open conflict with Betfair over its contribution to the levy. Yesterday he claimed Betfair had disrupted British racing's finances and warned other countries about allowing it to operate in their jurisdictions. However a spokesman for NewSmith said while Mr Roy would not have taken the decision to invest in Betfair he considered it to be a "brilliant business model". ![]() |

Last price I saw was 899p - as I recall Softbank bought 25% at 1,312p a few years ago, they launched at between 1,300p and 1,400p and peaked at around 1,550p, but that's only going from memory.

891p today - I think that makes the company worh about GBP 1 billion, as opposed to the GBP 1.5 billion valuations in the past.
