You couldn't be very selective as there aren't very many horses that go off at those sort of odds.
Still at least 2 of them have won this year. |

This sounds like the kind of system where you would need to keep the Samaritans on speed dial

4 winners this year alone at SP odds of 600, 814.82 and 2 x 1000. At a £2 stake per runner over 500, you would have lost £6829.64. At a commission rate of 5%, you would have needed 3595 successful lays just to break even.

2 years ago i began laying horses that had drifted to over 100 on here, max price 120.
For example going from 65 to 110. I had a winning run of over 150 @£11 stakes everytime. I only stopped because i had 3 close calls as i approached the 150th winning bet, one traded @ 1.3 in the final 50 yards. Its ok as a bit of fun, trying to make £100 / £150 per week, but you have to be prepared to lose alot when they win. I may start again when the flat season gets up and running. |

Oh and if they drifted above my max price, i`d just put a lay i/r aroung 90.
Also on all bets i`d put i/r lay at around 6/7. Not for the faint hearted though. |

Forgive me shane but, if you lay at long odds, how does laying again
at short odds help your position? Isn't that asking for a double whammy? |

19-Jun-10 Redcar 5.20 1000
29-Oct-10 Wetherby 3.35 1000 As far as I know there was only one in the previous 9 or so years before those, so I reckon the 1000.0 layers will still be ahead of the backers by quite a margin. |

so that's one every other month, cumbrianlad.
so long as you stuck to the months inbetween you'd be okay. |

Aunty - It doesn`t help my position. All lays i put on here i lay again at shorter odds i/r.
If original lay was @ 5 i`ll also lay @2.2 & 1.5 if over 5/6/7/f. I have come unstuck once, paying out a fortune, that was down to my own lack of discipline. I was bored one Wednesday evening and Wolves was on ![]() It can be a good way of betting, but avoid maiden / novice hurdles & small aw fields which arn`t competitive. |

Do you have the stats for horses who's sp was below 500 but reached over 500 in play and won? |

laying a horse 500/1 +
is exactly the same as backing the field at a price of 0.002/1 0r lower . YOU WILL GET CAUGHT . |
