Thinking of buying a laptop. Currently use AOL on my old computer, rang AOL for advice - AOL said no to Windows 7, have problems. Most new laptops have Windows 7 though. Any advice please.
Pause Switch to Standard View Windows 7. Is it any good?

Win7 ok. AOL awful. Get one and ditch the other :)

I've had a W7 laptop since January and am very pleased with it.

It didn't take me long to get used to W7 even though I was moving from XP (skipped Vista). The only problem I have is IE8 keeps crashing for no reason so I use Chrome now with no issues.

Regarding AOL I've no experience of them so can't advise you in that respect.

AOL was dreadful by the time that I left them.  And they kept me on the phone for ages, when all I wanted to do was cancel.

Marksman, I have read on this forum that trying to cancel AOL is difficult but I will try.

It wasn't difficult, but time consuming, because they insisted on going through all the options and wouldn't cancel until they had exhausted all these.

Beware W7. It has new mouse features that are impossible to turn off and which can cause you to do things you don't intend with BF. More than once I have accidentally cancelled all unmatched bets.

And IE crashes a lot, but so does Mozilla.
