Saturday is traditionally geared to be the hardest day of the week as more punters are playing and many tricky races are featured during the afternoon. For example the scoop 6 is comprised of the six trickiest races through the afternoon (for obvious reasons).
If you have a look you will notice more big field handicaps on Saturday afternoon, although the evening meetings are fairly run of the mill stuff.

I reckon Saturdays the best, only day I need to bet.

if your betting strategy depends on what the Punters are doing, rather than what the Horses do, then Saturdays are certainly different.
Sometimes better, sometimes worse, but always different.

My strategy is largely based on prices and price movement on lower grade handicaps (4, 5 and 6) and not so much on the form of the horse.
I see that there may be an extra half-a-horse per race on a Saturday, but my losses have come from less well contested races.

Be careful not to draw big conclusions from small numbers. A few Saturdays is nothing.

The amount of meetings on a Saturday might possibly affect what you do with so many races to analyze. Hard to say though without a bit more info about your strategy.

if i had to put my bit in here as i have thought about this exsact thing only last night, what i think is possible is better prize money at weekend racing, owners might want there horses running weekend so they can go watch them, which ends up making the races more competitive, so i think its easier to slip your horse in to a handicap mid week,

I guess 7 weeks maybe too small a sample and I may be over-analysing.
What has stood out has been that with this particular strategy, 6 out of 7 Saturdays have been losing days whereas for each of the other days of the week, 6 out of 7 have been winning days.

rayzor, I can remember this being discussed on here a couple of years ago and other posters (including myself) found that their Saturday's results were definitely 'poorer' to their weekday results. Though a conclusion could not be found that explained this.
I did notice that last Saturday the amount traded at the off was certainly lower than most weekdays. i.e. often £ 300k instead of 600k. Although I now find that weekdays can vary considerably as well. The exception being of course big races that are televised. It had concerned me enough that I will either stop trading on Saturdays or just limit myself to the big meetings.
