Welcome back Jodie.
I'm currently "experimenting" on just looking for what bet attracts me from odds available in all markets....mainly MATCH/ HT-FT/ OVER 2.5 and CSs. I tend to "hedge" main bet.....so bets can be "complicated", therefore best I just watch your thread without posting my bets etc. If there are any matches you might like a view on....I will be pleased to express opinion/thoughts on etc.... GL with thread....I'm sure it will be as successful as last one. Cheers the noooooooooooo |

Hey all,
I'll have a go at this and see how it goes. Starting bank will be 500 euros. My aim is to make 200-250 euros/week but may aim for lower when there are no midweek games. Will see how it goes in the process. Bet 1 -> Haka - Lahti: Lay unquoted @11 liability 160 to win 16. Both teams are doing really bad, but Lahti has an impressive away record of draws 1-5-1. Recent form for the two teams is roughly the same. I expect a tight underish game. Bet 2 -> Roda - Twente: Lay unquoted @ 8.4 liability 118,4 to win 16. Opening game in Holland and first couple of games are always tricky. I don't believe that any of the two teams will go out full attack as they're still going through an adjustment period. (Only 7 euros matched at the time of writing, will update tomorrow) Good luck to all! |

Hi guys
I notice that a number of you dive straight in as soon as the footy season starts-up. Do any of you favour looking at stats on which to base your selections? If so, do you like to use the previous season's stats or do you prefer to look at the current season's also as they develop. Obviously the latter cannot be used at present. Anyway, good luck to all for the coming season. |
By:
DFC are you taking a break from posting your selections and success/strike rates this season?
Your contributions on the other thread were very good reading. Good luck regardless. |
By:
ebasson61- i always have a look at previous stats as i find them extremely healthy reading but the fact is that football is never that easy. I enjoy the game to be IP and get a feel to the game prior to taking bets.
Bet of the Decade- DFC always gives extremely efficient write ups prior to games which always makes good reading, i am not sure if he is having a break from the start of the season but have no doubt that he will be posting soon enough. Watch this space.... |

so you like to start the threads then disappear for 6 months , come back and even though some1 else started this season's thread you still start one anyway. Classy stuff.
Good luck to all the regulars for the new season |
By:
Hi dlarssonf, apologies if i have offended you with starting a new thread, i honestly didnt mean to.
In all honesty i just wanted to record my results on a thread, the thread that was started last season was also to record my own results but other people also participated, i forgot this was a 'general betting' forum and didnt realise that there was a betfair rule that opposed 2 threads of the same origin. Once again apologies if i have offended you but people can post there thoughts anywhere they wish, i hope you will all join in but i will take no offence if nobody comments on this one. All the best with your bets this season and apologies that i disappered for 6 months, i didnt realise you missed me so much! xx |
By:
Hi Totga great to see you back again very best of luck
|
By:
no1 said it was an offence to start a thread, i said it was poor form imo and I won't be losing sleep over it TOTGA. Good luck with your bets also.

By:
Cheers ICE, hope all is well with you. Did you have any bets this evening?
|
By:
No but will be starting again soon
|

Great stuff ICE, all the very best

TOTGA well done for day 1. You mind me posting in this thread or should i start my own? |
By:
DFCIRONMAN,
£8400 last season, not bad ehy But over 130 odd days do you think you could have turned over the same amount of money using a different strategy/betting style and made more? |
By:
Wedged - hard to reply to that .....but it was over 192 days.
I had no edge on World Cup games....and I got caught up of "hype" ....but it is far harder to weigh up how such international matches will go .....so i lost a few thousand there. No point saying AFTER event that had I adopted a different approach to such games I would have been better off.................as can't honestly answer that. Perhaps it was down to just "luck" that I made a profit on thread. What I can say that is to often I over staked LATE AT NIGHT/EARLY MORNING ......probably through "tiredness"..........and lost heavily on a number of matches......I do not believe this was just co-incidence.......others might say it was! So better control of STAKING late in day FOR ME is important ( I know that control should be exercised with every bet ....but it is late at night i tend to lose control on staking ...WHEN AHEAD GENERALY( it is not chasing LOSSES ...but chasing more profit when over staking creeps in). At one time I was achieving 2% approximately on stakes risked.......anddon't think I could do better than that with CS LAYS. After World Cup matches ...the 2 % was nearer 1%.......... I believe it is possible to make 2% with CLUB matches........but not with INTERNATIONAL comps...... Anyway, GL all on this years' bets. G N the noooooo |

just seen the threads, looks good. I never thought into this system but I presume its profitable for you guys. Whta I would like to ask you's is have you ever been hit with 2 or more losers in a row, because it would seem hard to recover from and keep your head?

Good morning all,
Bet 3 -> Southampton - Plymouth: Lay unquoted @9.4 liability 134.4 to win 16. Southampton with a couple of important absences, will probably win, but I expect the game to end under 2.5 goals. Plymouth has a good history in there which puts me off from laying 1-1 which was my other choice. |

Good to see you back Jodie and also good to see a post from Jimbobjones indicating he is also back from a break all fired up. I have also been away working and other commitments but back for hopefully a profitable season. I have ben running 2 accounts one trading and one for general betting but less of a bank. Last year trading was more profitable but less fun but still made a profit on the betting albeit a small one. Jodie I think you are correct to take on my team Pompey today. I was at the fans forum midweek and Steve Cotterill was concerned the squad he takes to Coventry is very thin on quality. Mokeana is back in team and he only returned a week ago from South African exertions. I think a lay of Pompey is a sound bet and for the first time I will bet against my team to small stakes with the bonus if we win I will not be disappointed. Good luck to everyone this season. Many people have proved it can be very profitable. Personally I shall stay away from the 0-0's which historically has been my downfall. I also find great value in the unquoted which gives an opportunity to trade off.

Hello everyone. Good to see this thread back for the new season. Don't like to get involved too early as my ratings need a few games to crunch. A hint of value so having a dabble at min stakes laying Milwall, Forest, Hudd, MK, Bradford & Aldershot.
Good luck. (back to the racing) |

Bet 1 -> Haka - Lahti: Lay unquoted @11 liability 160 to win 16 Bet 2 -> Roda - Twente: Lay unquoted @ 8.4 liability 118,4 to win 16 Bet 3 -> Southampton - Plymouth: Lay unquoted @9.4 liability 134.4 to win 16 Hey Ice. Good luck to you too [:D] Mums Irish Stew, I agree with you regarding the unquoted lay, especially in the first 2-3 gameweeks where the players are still trying to get into the routine, and new players trying to adjust in the new surroundings. Bet 4 -> QPR - Barnsley Lay 1-1 Bet 5 -> Reading - Scunthorpe Lay 1-0 will put stakes up later. Got to rush. |

Had to run and couldn't complete my bet info so here's the update:

Starting bank: 500 Euros. Current bank 576,1 Euros. Bets 5 won 5. (Made a mistake at the previous bank post.. not 45,66 but 545,66)
Bet 1 -> Haka - Lahti: Lay unquoted @11 liability 160 to win 16 (15.22 net) *WON* Bet 2 -> Roda - Twente: Lay unquoted @ 8.4 liability 118,4 to win 16 (15.22 net) *WON* Bet 3 -> Southampton - Plymouth: Lay unquoted @9.4 liability 134.4 to win 16 (15.22 net) *WON* Bet 4 -> QPR - Barnsley: Lay 1-1 @8.4 liability 118.4 to win 16(15.22 net) *WON* Bet 5 -> Reading - Scunthorpe: Lay 1-0 @8.8 liability 124.8 to win 16(15.22 net) *WON* Off to a good start. Hope it continues this way Bet 6 -> Bayern - Schalke: Lay 1-0 @10.5 to win 16. Bayern had many players in the world cup who came back to the squad just a couple of days ago. They also have major absences. Schalke already beat bayern pre-season, and I'm sure they can score 1 goal. |

Well done.
Typical odd opening day and 3 of 6 a tad poor from me. At least 10 man Charlton clung on for 3 points. |
