I never want to see windows again as long as I live. I basically just need a browser and from what I have seen Safari on a macbook is a dream to use compared to w7.

Actually I suppose I need to sync my phone and print occasionally and keep all my music etc.

Why not install mac osx on a custom built PC? Better build quality than apple (if I made it, and not some 9 year old in shanghai) and for a lot less cash. Apple gone a bit downhill since the beige PC days.

and safari possibly the worst browser I've used, save for netscape navigator. Now that was god awful.

Well, compared to my daughter's new Dell studio running windows 7 the equivalent macbook pro in the apple shop on tuesday was better in every regard.

Jimbo, I suspect the main reason why apples are superior is because they manufacture the hardware and sofware and can therefore test and fine-tune the whole thing as a single entity. I resent this philiosophy entirely but am beginning to accept that the end result is just plain better.
