thinking of trying a bot for the first time. but im wary because i think they are all to good to be true?

I don't use bots myself but Gruss coupled with excel and a bit of learning would be the way to go for me if I wanted to get into conditional betting.

Bfexplorer PRO is trading platform with extended support for bot execution. All you need to run a bot is just set its bot parameters, no programming required but if you are familiar with some programming language you can make your own custom bots too.

I Just thought I'd take the time to compliment you on your programming skills As a programmer myself with 30 years experience ( sigh... gettin' old :( ) I've seen the good, the bad, and ugly many times and its fairly rare to see such a well sculptured peice of code.
