Most Betfair users are familiar with the graph icon to the left of a starter's name on the market display. Click on that icon and a Market Information box opens that contains graphs on the left, and on the right, a table showing odds and amounts available to back or lay, as well as info on matched bets. Right click on the table, and you can select an option to export it into excel, although it has resisted any attempts to manipulate it on my part where it opens, presumably because it is "protected". However, copy and paste the contents into a new excel book, and I have by using a simple macro, extracted Weighted Average Matched Odds for the contestant, which is probably a fair guide to the market's assessment of it's chance. What I would like to do is extract this information during betting, and be able to see all runners at once on excel, as the odds change, in real time. Can anyone suggest the best vehicle to achieve this ? The array of software out there dizzied me frankly, I'll like to hear from someone up to speed on the subject. Thanks in advance for any help.

Personally I achieve what you're after for horse racing by using Gruss Betting Assistant

Was that via an off-the-shelf solution or a DIY spreadsheet ? Or no excel usage at all ?

DIY spreadsheet, it feeds through the constantly updating prices to a section of columns on a worksheet, you can then use that data with your own formula in other columns

Certainly appears to be moving me closer to it, will have to kick the brain into gear to get it sorted properly.

Starfish, were you able to write a macro to extract an accurate weighted average or just a fair approximation ? A bit of a challenge I fear for my limited capabilities, but I'll give it a go.
