If a horse is pulled out right before the off are all unmatched bets cancelled, even if "keep" has been selected?

Trying to work out why one of my bets got cancelled today, I was trying to put it on using betfair mobile which didn't help I think ;)

They usually cancel keep bets if they haven't had time to remove the non runner from the market before the off. This is because they haven't had time to apply any reduction factors to your bet and there are the reduction factor doesn't apply to the in running markets.

"In the event of a late withdrawal which Betfair deems a material runner, Betfair reserves the right to cancel ALL lay 'keep' bets before turning the market in-play, if it does not have time to remove the non-runner from the market. Separately Betfair reserves the right to remove a non-runner after completion of the race. In this case any 'keep' bet placed before the off and matched in-play will remain at the original selected price. "

This is because they haven't had time to apply any reduction factors to your bet and the reduction factor doesn't apply to the in running markets. So basically you could end up being matched at much larger odds than you wanted to. If they remove the non runner out of the market prior to the off they reduce any lay bets by the reduction factor, back bets stay at the same odds

Ah I see, thats probably what happened then. One of the horse's refused to go in the stalls so was withdrawn right before the off, I guess they didn't have time to apply the reduction factors then hence my bet got cancelled. Bit of a bummer!! Thanks for the reply :)
