Kings Legacy, Whistlejaquet and Floreana

Has there been any rational explanation to these incidents?

Clear leaders with one fence to go - all swerve and run out or refuse - this is too much of a coincidence when happening at this point of the race!

My suspicion is that someone is having it large on the IR players

Would like to know any facts instead of the 'horse just refused' as the RP seems to convey

Will be interesting also if it happens again in the next few days

Was a case like this many years ago IIRC - someone using sound (disguised as pair of binoculours) to make horse swerve.

1 every 3 or 4 years seems feasible - 3 in 4 days is very suspicious

So - if theres no factual evidence, should the authorities and BF (if it is a corruption suspicion) be investigating?

I'm not sure the Floreana refusal was anything more than the horse being bored/ tired/ fed up etc.

But the two at Taunton were identical and very strange. If it was sunlight or yellow coats then it seemed odd that it only happened to the leaders and not the followers.

Difficult to prove anything, but it was the oddest thing I have seen in many years of racing.

did not hear about these horses... and three in 4 days seems alot but is a small data.

but you need to conisder all possibilities.

I said to Betfair - when there was spate of horses taking the worng course it coudl be concocted to steal IR money, I suspect they looked and found nothing suspicious.

but also remember, Frog produced statistical evidence that showed after Betfair became liquid and viable - there was steep increase in the number of slow starters....

Many of those slow starters appeared in my lost of suspects, and 'a disproportionate amount' of them (based on small numbers) appeared in BHA enquiries....

so be suspicious - it is healthy, and probably VERY valid

Go onto the ATR site and watch the two novice hurdle races from Taunton.

One yes it is a possibility - horses can and do run out of their ow volition. But for the same thing to happen twice on the same day is very coincidental.

As you say, I hope Betfair are looking

The most coincidental thing is at Taunton the incident happened at virtually the same spot on the 2nd circuit. The sunlight/yellow coats should be discounted because they had past this point on the first circuit!

BTW

The corruption angle is totally secondary to the poss consequences for the jocks & horses. You would hope their welfare organisations would be wanting answers

The weighed in light angle has already been deployed a few times. Expect it 2 be used more often.
