Please bear with me as this is probably going to be long winded ! Its just a bit of fun and a side project if you like to my main betting.
Very straightforward, the aim is to post `200` consecutive winning backs /lays to bust Schalkes Betfair Forum record of `199` - once thats completed the aim is to continue, and try to beat ScottyXS`s Sports forum record of `350` consecutive winnings backs/lays from over at the Punters Lounge - I havent seen better posted elsewhere, so those are my targets. The monetary gain is of no interest to me.
Im having a few thread rules to keep from getting carried away, becoming obsessed, and making schoolboy errors !
Thread Rules
Start bank £200.00 - I really only wanted to start with £100.00 but im doing 50% liability so chances are if I lose i`ll only lose £100.00 , which I can take.
10 bets per day MAX - NO MORE, I [b]can do less if there`s nothing doing, but NEVER more than 10
50% Liability of bank on all bets - so that I can post 2 bets at a time - saves on net time
1 selection per event only - saves over laying and getting greedy
No withdrawals at any stage - no point as I wont be making much, the record will be enough
Any odds allowed - no ceiling on high for lays , or low for backs , they all count
8 horse lays in the afternoon then 2 sports bets at night is the basic plan, suits my lifestyle and interests[/b]
So thats it . If all goes to plan it`ll take me 20 days to get the 200 (3rd April), and 35 days to get the 350 (18th April)

I don't understand the no more than 10 bets a day thing .... so if an awesome bet came along which would be bet no.11, you would refuse it just because you have had 10 bets?

Its becasue I have a life, job,dogs and kids - dogs needs walking, kids need feeding/bathing and putting to bed, and my job wont do itself -10 a day is probably excessive, but very do-able :D My main sport is horse racing, and I think 8 a day is plenty, probably too much tbh - so i`ll pick my best 8... Then in the evening when I get the kids to bed and have a bit of relaxation time i`ll do 1 or 2 football/cricket bets - thats me , im very happy with that. No stonking bet will come along that i`ll see becasue I wont be looking. I hate tennis/snooker/bowls and all that other pish that people bet on so im doing this to suit my needs and my lifestyle. The 10 a day is to stop me laying every race coz I know it would only take one day and id go off the rails and try to go through an entire days racing and come a roy cropper... How would I feel if I had my 10 bets and then an awesome 1.01 as you put it, came along, and I backed it , just through greediness , ofr hurrying,and it lost ?? As it stands now I can live with myself if I lose,no problems, if I go off the rules and lose i`ll probably smash the laptop ;-) HGR |

Schalkes run took a while. Scottys run took considerably longer and was very controlled. There was another run of 296 on another site which also took quite a while. Going for a record like this requires a lot of discipline and takes a while to get there. You sound like you're in a hurry to get there. Why the rush? Setting parameters of any sort only places restrictions in your path to glory. I'm trying hard not to be too critical here, but you do need to reassess a few things.

Yeah , he trains pointers in Broughton,Worcester. The horse is a pig with horses heed - Michael Stoute couldnt get a win outa this beast :D
