Company has not performed and I'm out £4,500 The case looks pretty open and shut. Is there any Forumite experience about how much a solicitor would cost to carry the case through the county court, say at most 2 court days? I'd hope to round off my total loss at £5,000 if the action failed, making it a 9:1 return on a better than 50/50 chance. Or am I thinking right?

CC judgements are based on who to rule in favor of, you don't need a solicitor, just do the litigation yourself, very simple system.

Only thing to check is that defendant has the means to pay, assets to value of etc or you are throwing good money after bad.
