May Oui May Oui.

French online gambling market finally opens

The French Assembly has finally agreed on the opening of the French online gambling market on Tuesday. The vote had been postponed last week following a tactical move from the Socialists ranks that was made possible by the right wing absenteeism.

Anyway the hemicycle was full on Tuesday and 299 of the 522 present deputies agreed the bill, which was passed with flying colours.

The Socialist group fought against the bill until the last minute and some right wing cold feet were also against it. Gaetan Gorce (Deputy and Mayor in the Nievre, Center-East of France, where many AQPS jumpers are bred) was the most adamant of all.

But itn't everyone bar Betfair who can apply for a licence?

Saying that I was in Paris last week and had no problem using Betfair on the Hotel computer availibile for internet use in the lobby.

So in spite of what others said on here it still seems Betfair is accessible as ever in France.....Cheers

Bernard Arnault is stakeholder. Betfair is fine as long as he doesn't sell.

PS: Even if they were to ban BF and the EU Commission lets it stand, the court in Luxembourg would slap it.
